    Professional, kind staff; excellent rehab

I'm very pleased with the care here - the staff (RNs, CNAs, PT/OT and administration) are professional, kind and attentive, and rehab progress has been excellent through collaborative care-plan meetings. The facility is very clean, the food is fresh and family-style, activities and outings keep residents engaged, and communication is consistently transparent. I'd recommend this community.

    Summary of reviews

Reviewer experiences of Quincy Healthcare & Senior Living are mixed, with clear patterns of both strengths and operational weaknesses. Positive accounts emphasize engaged, personable clinical staff, a range of social activities, and an organized interdisciplinary approach to care planning that includes dietary and therapy input. Several families praised the dining program for offering home-style meals with fresh produce and described the building as small and community-oriented. When on-site therapy and coordinated nursing were available, some residents showed measurable rehabilitation progress and families expressed satisfaction with responsiveness and individualized attention.

At the same time, a substantial portion of feedback raises operational concerns that prospective residents and families should evaluate closely. There are repeated sanitation and odor concerns in certain resident rooms and common areas, alongside reports of dated or substandard room conditions. Medication-management problems are described, including delays or difficulties obtaining prescribed doses, and reviewers flagged instances where promised rehabilitation services were not consistently available. Staffing variability was commonly cited as contributing to delayed call-light response and inconsistent assistance with activities of daily living.

Communication and transparency emerge as a central tension. Positive experiences noted collaborative care-plan meetings and clear dialogue with staff, but other accounts describe weak follow-up on phone calls, confusing insurance-related medication issues, and limited disclosure about active infectious events. Several reviewers also noted discrepancies between marketing imagery and the actual accommodations shown during tours, and some families reported unexpected mid-stay room changes from private to shared accommodation.

Programming and social engagement are notable strengths when implemented: reviewers highlighted regular outings, small-group activities, faith services, and opportunities for social connection that support resident morale. However, concerns about the facility’s capacity to manage dementia or higher-acuity needs were raised; families considering long-term dementia care were advised to verify staff training, staffing ratios, and behavioral-support protocols.

In summary, Quincy offers features that may suit short-term rehabilitation or residents who value a small, activity-rich environment with collaborative care planning. At the same time, inconsistent cleanliness, staffing fluctuations, medication and therapy availability, and questions about transparency are recurrent themes that warrant direct verification. Prospective residents should tour in person, ask for written descriptions of care/service guarantees (including infection-disclosure practices, medication administration protocols, and room-assignment policies), confirm current therapy availability, and request references from recent families when evaluating suitability.

The place has both private and semi-private suites, with private bathrooms and fully furnished rooms, and families have a choice between more social, bigger community areas and smaller board and care homes in quieter neighborhood settings, so every kind of personal preference is covered. The staff help with meals, bathing, grooming, taking medicine, and even offer therapy services seven days a week, plus they'll take people shopping or walk them through real-life things like cooking and cleaning to help them get ready for going back home or just so they can stay as independent as possible. There's a real focus on safety and comfort, with things like camera systems, door locks, nurse call buttons, and electronic medical records, so loved ones have peace of mind as residents move through different levels of care if needed, ranging from independent to skilled nursing, long or short-term care, memory care, respite stays, and even hospice services when that time comes. Residents have home-cooked meals, family-style dining, Wi-Fi, gardens, a sun porch, two spa bathrooms, a beauty shop, family gathering rooms, a fitness room, a gaming room, and a computer center, with social events, a library, and spiritual care as part of the daily rhythm, and there's also move-in help and transportation for doctor visits or errands, even for those who don't need medical supervision. There's a deep emphasis on a warm and friendly atmosphere, with staff trained to be compassionate and helpful, and the facility's history as St. Vincent's has shaped it as a caring community; monthly rates run roughly from $4,593 to $7,831, depending on care level. The care team includes nurses, therapists, aides, and other specialists, who all aim to maintain as much independence as possible for each person, with personalized care plans made to suit each resident, along with engaging activities to keep folks mentally and socially active all day long.
