    Warm staff, clean facility, recommended

I moved my mom here and we're very pleased. The staff are warm, attentive and knowledgeable, the facility is bright, clean and welcoming, and dining feels restaurant-quality with a good daily menu. There are plenty of activities, solid therapy/transportation support, and a variety of apartment options (studios to garden homes); I'd recommend touring.

    Summary of reviews

Five Star Residences of Banta Pointe presents a mixed but largely favorable operational profile. Many families and residents emphasize consistently compassionate, attentive caregiving and capable nursing oversight. The community is frequently described as clean, welcoming, and well maintained, with a variety of housing options that include studio and one‑bedroom apartments, two‑bedroom garden homes with garages, and attractive common areas. Maintenance responsiveness, housekeeping, and on‑site amenities such as a salon, movie theater, gym, and raised garden beds contribute to a home‑like environment that several residents described as energetic and socially engaging.

Dining and activities are important strengths for the community. The dining program offers restaurant‑style service, an all‑day menu and a la carte options, and many reviewers praised meal quality and variety. The Lifestyle 360 activities program and a robust social calendar support resident engagement through outings, classes, and on‑site events; reviewers frequently described a strong sense of community and social integration. Rehabilitation and therapy services were also noted as effective supports for residents working toward greater independence.

Despite these positives, recurring operational concerns appear across reviews. Communication and administrative consistency are the most commonly cited issues: families described uneven follow‑up, billing and bookkeeping errors, refund delays, and occasional unresponsiveness from leadership. Several families called out unexpected fee increases (examples cited included double increases over a short period totaling roughly mid‑teens percent), which has raised concerns about pricing transparency and perceived value relative to basic care needs. Staffing variability was linked to delays in routine service and medication administration, and some reviewers described longer than expected medication‑delivery times.

Dining execution is uneven in some accounts: while many praise the food, others reported order errors, items running out, and variable quality depending on staffing. Activity offerings generally receive positive feedback, but some reviewers experienced limited programming during certain periods or transitions, including turnover among activity staff. Facility condition is overall good, but there is variability across buildings—some areas were described as older or in need of additional maintenance, and a few reviewers raised pest‑control concerns. Security and financial safety were raised as operational gaps as well; external security measures were perceived as limited, and there were accounts of personal‑property theft and billing disputes that underscore potential vulnerabilities.

In summary, prospective residents and families can expect a community with engaged, caring staff; attractive, home‑style living options; a strong activities program; and generally well‑maintained grounds. Those considering placement should weigh these strengths against documented operational patterns: seek clear, written fee disclosures; clarify medication and pharmacy procedures; ask for examples of family‑communication protocols; and verify security measures for both personal and vehicle safety. A focused discussion with admissions on billing practices, recent leadership stability, and activity schedules will help align expectations with the variable experiences reflected in the reviews.

About Five Star Residences of Banta Pointe

Five Star Residences of Banta Pointe sits in a quiet neighborhood at 6510 U.S. 31 South in Indianapolis, and it opens its doors every day, all day and night, so there's always someone around in case help's needed or family and friends want to visit. Folks can choose between different living options, like independent living for those who are still good on their own, or assisted living and memory care for seniors who need a bit more support, and all apartments have emergency call systems and come in different floor plans, with some even offering garden-style homes with garages, full kitchens, laundry rooms, and dens, so you get a place that feels like home and lets you keep your routine. The community has a clean, bright, and fresh-smelling environment with a welcoming library, a movie theater, cozy living rooms, computer rooms, and sitting areas that catch the sun, and there's an outdoor patio with benches and a fire pit where folks like to sit and talk, plus you see well-kept lawns with big trees and sidewalks for safe walking.

Plenty of activities fill the day, with communal spaces set up for art, music, and card games, and you'll see happy hour events, clubs, outings, field trips, as well as a bar and a cocktail lounge, and the activity room has comfortable chairs set around a piano and podium for gatherings. Meals happen in an elegant dining room with white tablecloths and centerpieces, but there's also room service and guest meal options, and folks can pick their food through the MyChoice Dining Program, which includes diabetic, low-fat, low-salt, and vegetarian meals, and all the dining is restaurant-style and available all day. Staff provide regular housekeeping, laundry, linen service, and personal care like bathing, dressing, or medication reminders, and there's skilled nursing and programs for those who need more medical support, with specialized memory care and rehabilitation services, including therapies for strength, coordination, pain management, and help with neurological or orthopedic needs. You get transportation to shopping, doctor visits, entertainment, and outings, either general or scheduled, and there's parking for both residents and guests, plus overnight guest stays are allowed.

The grounds include a gated entry, a lake, a gazebo, a chapel, and community gardens, along with indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, exercise classes, a dog park with pet therapy, but no large or small dogs allowed otherwise. Apartments offer high-speed internet, basic cable, satellite TV, kitchenettes or full kitchens, washer and dryer in units, and plenty of storage, plus the buildings have handicap accessible features. Services extend to a beauty salon, barbershop, concierge service, and complimentary breakfast, and health care teams, including FOX Rehabilitation, provide outpatient rehab and short-term or respite care if someone only needs a temporary stay. Five Star Residences of Banta Pointe offers continuing care with options to change support as health needs shift, and the staff works to keep daily life straightforward and supportive, so seniors can enjoy meaningful activities, nutritious food, and a peaceful, comfortable home at prices starting around $2,100 for independent living and $2,400 for assisted living. The setting and daily schedule let residents feel connected to the community, and there's always a friendly face around, whether it's a neighbor, visitor, or staff member ready to help or just chat.
