    Compassionate professional care and community

I moved my dad here and we're very happy. The compassionate, professional staff treat residents like family and provide 24/7 support with on-site nursing and medication management, which gives us real peace of mind. Roomy, clean apartment living with home-cooked meals, housekeeping/laundry, and a full calendar of activities and outings (games, Bible study, walks, bus trips) creates a welcoming, Christian, hotel-like yet homey atmosphere. I'd recommend this community.

    Summary of reviews

Parkview Village Christian Care is described largely as a well-maintained, community-oriented retirement option with a pronounced Christian identity. Reviewers emphasize a welcoming, home-like atmosphere, clean common areas and apartments, and a variety of housing options (studios and one- and two-bedroom units) that include features such as patio porches and roomy floor plans. The physical setting and presentation are consistently framed as attractive and comfortable.

Care and staffing are frequent strengths in the feedback. Many families and residents characterize the direct-care staff as compassionate, patient, and resident-centered; several comments reflect that staff view care as a calling. There is an on-site nursing presence and 24/7 support availability, and the facility offers medication management and nursing-adjacent services. At the same time, reviewers indicate limits to the level of clinical assistance provided: the community is positioned for independent living with assistance rather than for residents who require higher-dependency or complex hands-on care.

Dining and services receive strong positive mention. Meals are described as homemade and planned with dietitian input, with options for three meals a day, delivered meals, and in-room kitchen alternatives. Housekeeping, laundry, and hair services are included in many accounts, and the open dining concept and perceived food quality contribute to resident satisfaction. Activity programming is broad, covering social and faith-based offerings (Bible study, church services), organized games, crafts, daily walks, and frequent outings or bus trips to local points of interest. An on-site shuttle and regular field trips are highlighted as enhancing resident engagement and mobility.

Notable operational patterns include generally good family communication and involvement — families report being notified of concerns and feeling reassured — and a sense of value for cost. The primary operational concerns to investigate further are related to attendant staffing: some feedback points to inconsistent management and variability in attendant training or capability for residents who need more complex assistance. Prospective residents and families should therefore clarify current attendant staffing levels, training protocols, and the facility’s process for handling higher-dependency needs during tours. Overall, Parkview Village appears well suited to older adults seeking a faith-based, activity-rich, apartment-style retirement setting with supportive nursing resources but less appropriate for those who require intensive, hands-on medical care.

    About Parkview Village Christian Care

Parkview Village Christian Care sits at 800 South West Street in Odon, Indiana, and you'll find it is a nonprofit senior community with a focus on Christian values, offering different kinds of care for older adults who want to stay comfortable and safe while being part of a supportive place. The facility opened in April 2009 and runs with an EIN of 205905324. Board members like Amos Stoll Jr, Ron Knepp, and Terry Lengacher guide its work. The assets are over six million dollars and the organization has a corporation status, holding true to its Christian mission of helping older folks with care, spiritual support, and daily life, all in a warm, friendly way.

The community provides seniors with several living options, including cottage duplexes to give some independence but still offer community help, independent living, assisted living apartments, and memory care. You'll see they have a low-cost assisted living facility, making it more affordable for more people. There's also home care for those who need support but prefer to stay in their own space, along with respite and short-term stays. Healthcare staffing, medication management, and incontinence care are part of daily care, and housekeeping, laundry, and help with daily activities come standard. Friendly staff are on hand around the clock and are known for being helpful, joyful, and kind to both residents and visitors.

Parkview Village Christian Care lets residents bring along small pets like cats and dogs if they fit weight limits, which is nice for pet lovers. The campus features indoor and outdoor common areas for residents to gather, secure fiber WiFi to keep folks connected, and resident parking along with complimentary transportation for trips and appointments. The building offers room setups with features like wheelchair-accessible showers and nice views. A beautician is on site, and the staff speak English and sometimes other languages. Meals are planned by chefs and include options like vegetarian dishes, with three meals served each day. They run devotional activities along with a busy calendar of on-site and off-site events to encourage social, physical, and emotional engagement.

There are different floor plans designed for safety and comfort, and the whole setup focuses on valuing each resident while caring for the body, mind, and spirit. Parkview Village Christian Care really tries to give seniors a place where they can feel supported and continue to live well, taking part in recreational and social activities along with their neighbors.
