    Warm staff, spotless, welcoming community

I toured and moved my mom into this beautiful, spotless community - the staff (Karen stood out) are warm, attentive, and know residents by name. Great food, plenty of activities, on-site salon/therapy/fitness/theater, and a welcoming, homey vibe; I would recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Silvercrest at College View earns frequent praise for its caregiving staff, clinical personnel, and resident-centered culture. Many families and residents describe staff as warm, familiar, and attentive; nursing leadership and on-site clinicians (including periodic doctor visits and rehabilitation therapies) are highlighted as strengths. The community's newer construction, modern apartments, and broad amenity set — salon, fitness area, theater, underground parking and comfortable common spaces — contribute to a generally positive first impression.

Dining and activities are consistently described as strong aspects of daily life. The dining program is often characterized as chef-driven, with appealing presentation, menu flexibility, and on-demand items such as fruit and ice cream; residents and families cite an active calendar of classes, clubs, outings, and social events that support engagement across independent, assisted, and memory-care neighborhoods. Memory-care programming receives specific favorable attention for tailored activities, a comfortable environment, and meaningful outings.

Operational patterns are mixed. Reviews point to recurring management and communications shortfalls — unmet expectations, delays in response, and inconsistencies in follow-through — that have affected family experience. Staffing instability and turnover are also cited as ongoing constraints, producing longer waits at peak service times and pressure on direct-care and dining teams. Together these operational issues appear to drive variability in day-to-day service consistency.

Several concrete operational concerns merit attention for prospective families. While medication-assistance and pendant systems are in place, there are accounts of lapses in medication handling and pendant/pager reliability that have delayed assistance in some instances; families should clarify current protocols, audit logs, and device reliability during a tour. Meal quality is frequently praised for taste and variety, yet reviewers also cite intermittent service disruptions, missing items, and kitchen supply problems that can reduce consistency. Cleanliness of most spaces is noted as good, but there are intermittent sanitation and housekeeping lapses in some common areas and occasional maintenance delays that suggest variability in facilities follow-through.

Cost and care-level capacity are additional patterns to consider. Several families flagged perceived high monthly cost and subsequent rent increases relative to value, and a limited capacity for higher-intensity clinical care or seamless transitions to higher acuity was noted. In contrast, when clinical needs remain within the community's capabilities, reviewers often describe reassuring clinical oversight and strong day-to-day caregiving.

Overall, Silvercrest at College View presents as a modern, well-appointed community with strong relational care, robust activities, and attractive amenities. Prospective residents and families should weigh these strengths against operational variability in management responsiveness, staffing consistency, meal-service reliability, medication and pendant systems, maintenance follow-through, and the facility's ability to support higher-acuity transitions. Asking targeted questions about staffing levels, medication-administration safeguards, pendant response times, maintenance response protocols, and how the community manages transitions to higher levels of care will help align expectations with current performance.

    About Silvercrest at College View

Silvercrest at College View Senior Living - Dial Senior Living sits in Lenexa, KS and serves folks needing independent living, assisted living, memory care, and residential health care. The community offers a mix of living choices like two-bedroom apartments, single rooms, semi-private rooms, and even studio spaces, plus some homes let residents bring their pets, which is something people tend to like for a sense of comfort and normalcy. The independent living apartments at Silvercrest come with roomy kitchens-including big refrigerators, stoves with ovens, dishwashers, garbage disposals-and you'll find large walk-in closets, and most have their own deck or patio, so the space feels like a real home where you or your loved one can settle in with personal furniture and belongings. For folks looking for a bit more support or looking after, there are furnished apartments with kitchenettes, full-size refrigerators and freezers, microwaves, large bathrooms built for wheelchair access, plus a washer and dryer right in the unit. The whole place has central heat and air, which keeps the temperature comfortable.

People who need help with day-to-day things find assisted living services for bathing, dressing, eating, and managing medicines, and staff stay on-site all hours. There's a strong focus on making care personal and treating everyone like family, so the care gets tailored based on what each resident actually needs instead of a one-size-fits-all. For residents living with Alzheimer's or other memory conditions, the memory care program features a secure area to keep people safe and avoid wandering, around-the-clock caregivers for support with everything from grooming to joining in activities, and custom plans meant to keep spirits up and minds engaged as much as possible. The nursing home and continuing care parts make sure there's support for changing health needs, whether people just need some help or round-the-clock supervision.

Inside, Silvercrest lays out the community for easy movement with private and communal areas-there's living rooms, baths, a dedicated theater for movies or events, and even a salon where people can get their hair done and feel more put together. The interior spaces are large and set up for comfort and safety, and the staff includes folks from management to cleaning who regularly get noted for their friendliness and helpfulness. The dining program's known for good, nutritious meals, and residents often mention the food tastes great.

Maintenance gets handled quickly when something needs fixing, and there's a regular meeting system so residents can bring up concerns or suggest changes. Activities run both onsite and offsite and range from entertainment to social and educational gatherings, and devotional services are offered for people wanting spiritual support. The community operates under the larger Dial Senior Living company, and reviews often mention a lively atmosphere, reliable care, and a solid sense of respect for individual choices. With 75 assisted living beds and 20 residential health care beds, Silvercrest holds a spot as a mid-sized senior community where people can find their own level of independence or support without feeling crowded or overlooked.
