    Excellent care, clean bright rooms

I'm very pleased with this senior living community. Management is excellent and the staff are friendly, helpful and approachable; I was impressed by the quality of care in the small memory-care unit. The building and rooms are clean, bright, spacious and well-maintained, the location is convenient (close to family, with a nearby convenience store and hotel for visits), and there are plenty of activities and exercise options plus appealing dining-good value and a pleasant atmosphere I would recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Reviewers portray Harmony Place primarily as a well-kept, attractive community with positive interpersonal care and a range of social opportunities. Many reviewers praised the facility’s appearance — bright, spacious rooms, durable furnishings, and clean, secure common areas — and described staff as pleasant, helpful, and approachable. The presence of a small memory-care unit that families find competent, along with a recently changed management team that several families see as engaged, are noted strengths.

Care quality and staff performance are highlighted frequently. Numerous comments emphasize friendly, caring interactions and an overall impression of good day‑to‑day caregiving. At the same time, there are isolated but consequential concerns framed around staff responsiveness and conduct; these suggest that families should ask about staffing levels, response times for assistance, and communication protocols when evaluating the community.

Dining and programming receive generally favorable notes. Meal presentation and dining aroma are described as appealing and food quality as acceptable. The activity program includes routine social hours, coffee/tea gatherings, bingo, card games, puzzles, music and entertainment, and twice‑weekly exercise classes. Reviewers who used or observed programming found the options varied and helpful for social engagement and light fitness.

Facility and logistics are mixed. The building is often called beautiful and well maintained, and the location is convenient — reviewers cited a nearby convenience store and on‑site guest lodging options as practical benefits. Conversely, practical operational issues were raised about the visitor experience: confusing wayfinding through the building, inconsistent front‑desk greeting and visitor routing, and uneven tour admissions experiences. These items point to process and signage gaps rather than facility-condition problems.

Overall impression: Harmony Place appears to offer a solid environment for many residents, with strong appearance, active programming, and many families satisfied with care and management changes. Prospective residents and families should plan a detailed visit — observe staff interactions, ask specific questions about response times and staffing, confirm memory‑care capacity and policies, and evaluate entry/reception and wayfinding — to ensure the community’s operational practices match their expectations.

    About Harmony Place

Harmony Place sits in an easy spot just a half-mile from downtown Harmony, Minnesota, where you'll find a quiet community that makes folks feel at home. The staff here offer assisted living, memory care, respite care, and even independent living, always trying to match care to what each resident needs, and you'll notice the resident-to-caregiver ratio means staff can pay close attention to everyone. The caregivers stay onsite twenty-four hours, there's always a nurse on call, and every resident carries a wireless pendant they can press if they need help, which gives loved ones some peace of mind.

You'll find private apartments that come as studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms, each with private bathrooms, accessible features, and kitchenettes with a small fridge. The building's wheelchair-accessible and has paved parking for visitors and residents, along with guest spaces for overnight stays. Hallways open to gathering rooms made for social time, with some spots set up for cable TV, games, and group crafts-and there's a green garden space and secure walking paths outside for fresh air, along with gated patios if you want to sit in the sun.

For folks who need help with daily routines, staff are always around to give a hand with bathing, dressing, or managing medicine, and they use a medication reminder program to keep things on track. Harmony Place's staff include a part-time nurse, specialized caregivers trained in memory care, and others who help out with things like therapies, pet care, and salon or spa services-there's even a luxury bathtub and beauty salon for when someone wants to relax a bit, and a hot tub spa for joint pain or just to unwind.

Meals get cooked fresh and served restaurant-style in the dining room, where visitors can join for a meal, and if you're not feeling up to it, they'll bring food right to your apartment. Housekeeping comes every week, laundry and linen service keep things tidy, and all main utilities like WiFi, heat, and cable are included so it's easy to settle in.

Residents get to pick from a long list of daily activities-group games, exercise classes, color therapy, music, crafts, off-campus outings, educational talks, and even religious services if that's wanted-and the activities staff do work with residents so there's always something different on the calendar. The community uses the Live2BHealthy program, which includes activities for both physical and mental health, and their memory care wing uses mindful programs built for folks with dementia or Alzheimer's.

They offer short-term respite care along with more advanced options like long-term care, home care services, and hospice, covering a lot of bases under their Minnesota state license. Payment goes through checks, insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare, making it flexible for different situations. Harmony Place keeps a cozy, small-town feeling, making it easier for people to feel known and supported, whether they're staying long term or just here for a little while.
