    Moved mom; boutique memory-care excellence

I moved my mom into NorBella Prior Lake and am very pleased. The new, boutique one-level facility is clean, homey, and easy to navigate; staff - especially Abby and Sarah - are compassionate, responsive, and go above and beyond. The on-site chefs serve fresh, tasty meals in a beautiful dining room, activities and outings keep residents engaged, and the memory-care focus and safe, welcoming atmosphere have eased my mind - I recommend checking it out.

    Summary of reviews

NorBella Senior Living - Prior Lake is consistently described as a new, boutique-style memory-care and assisted-living community with a strong emphasis on a homelike atmosphere and fresh dining. Many families praised the facility's clean, modern build, one-level layout, private studio apartments with kitchenettes and large bathrooms, and attractive communal spaces — including a pleasant dining room, piano area, woodworking space, and a spacious outdoor patio. The community's small size is viewed positively by families seeking an intimate, easy-to-navigate setting focused on memory care.

Care and staff are central strengths in the reviews. Reviewers frequently highlight compassionate admissions staff, hands-on leadership, and caregiving teams that are described as kind, respectful, and responsive. Several families singled out the executive director and director of nursing for visible involvement in resident care and family communication. Housekeeping and sanitation routines are noted as consistent, contributing to a fresh, welcoming environment.

Dining and activities receive generally favorable comments. On-site chefs and freshly prepared meals with varied menus and desserts are commonly cited as highlights, along with a social dining experience that includes table conversation and group singing. The community offers daily activities, outings and a transport bus, bingo, barbecues, and occasional special events such as therapeutic pet visits. That said, activity programming is sometimes described as inconsistent; a few families noted gaps in schedule variety or the absence of a dedicated activities director during certain periods.

Operational and management patterns show both strengths and areas for improvement. Positive themes include direct communication lines with leadership and an admissions process that eased family concerns. Conversely, reviewers identified operational weaknesses that affect day-to-day experience: inconsistent staffing levels and clinical coverage at times, responsiveness gaps—particularly after-hours—and intermittent maintenance or reliability issues with building systems. Some families also expressed concern about a care model that can feel time- or task-driven rather than entirely person-centered, and about limited clarity on how the community will handle future changes in a resident's care needs. Cost is another recurring theme; several families characterized the community as relatively expensive.

Overall, NorBella Prior Lake appears to be a well-appointed, small memory-care community with many relational strengths in staff and leadership, strong dining, and appealing common spaces. Prospective residents and families should weigh those strengths against operational considerations: confirm staffing levels and after-hours coverage, review activity programming consistency, verify maintenance and access procedures, and discuss long-range care planning and fees to ensure alignment with their expectations and needs.

NorBella Senior Living - Prior Lake stands in a cozy, brand new community surrounded by green space and close to local shops and restaurants, so residents have both calm and convenience just outside their doors, and the boutique setting means only a small number of apartments for a quieter, home-like feeling. This senior living community offers several kinds of care, including independent living, assisted living, and secure memory care for adults with Alzheimer's or dementia, and skilled nursing is also available for those who need it. Amenities in the community range from luxury gathering spaces with big windows, kitchenettes with new appliances in each unit, quartz countertops, soft-close drawers, satellite TV, and WiFi. Residents enjoy different floor plans, 9' ceilings, and lots of natural light coming in. NorBella Prior Lake has in-house chef-led dining with scratch meals, special diets, cooking demonstrations, and even nutrition education seminars, so food is both healthy and something to look forward to. There's an Assisted Living Activity Calendar and a Memory Care Activity Calendar with things like library visits, card games, puzzles, bingo nights, backyard barbeques, and outings, which means socializing is easy and everyone can find something fun to do if they want. The staff use regular surveys for resident feedback, and there are special info packets and newsletters to keep families updated and involved, with a focus on clear communication. NorBella's approach centers on providing care that lets people feel at home, get support as their needs change, and stay engaged in daily life through activities and genuine connections.
