    Friendly attentive staff and activities

I feel well taken care of here-friendly, attentive staff provide constant, around-the-clock help. The activities team is wonderful (they make homemade dolls and quilts), the facility is clean with good snack and drink options, and I feel blessed by the great staff; I highly recommend them.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews for this facility present a mixed picture of care quality. Several accounts emphasize that residents receive continuous supervision and attentive help, and many reviewers described friendly interactions with staff and strong hands-on caregiving. At the same time, there are sharply contrasting accounts expressing significant dissatisfaction with care outcomes; when taken together, the comments point to variability in how consistently the facility delivers expected levels of care.

Staff and caregiving are frequently cited as strengths when experiences are positive: reviewers highlighted around-the-clock supervision, friendly staff behavior, and an overall clean environment. The activities department receives particular praise for an engaged program that includes craft-making and textile work (homemade dolls and quilts) and community-oriented events. Dining-specific commentary is limited but includes positive mention of accessible snack and beverage options on site.

Notable patterns across the summaries are the inconsistency and polarization of experiences. Positive reports about supervision and staff demeanor sit alongside serious concerns about responsiveness and care continuity. These patterns suggest operational variability that may be related to shift differences, staff coverage, or management oversight. Prospective residents and families should consider verifying staffing levels, care-plan implementation, supervision practices, and family-communication protocols during a visit to better understand how consistent the facility’s performance is over time.

About Riverview Nursing & Rehab Center

Riverview Nursing & Rehab Center sits on 1600 W Claiborne Ave in Greenwood, MS, and has served seniors since 1969, offering care to those who need support with health and daily life in a homelike setting, and you'll find staff who try to treat everyone with dignity, kindness, and respect every day, which you can tell if you spend any time around the place. The center is a not-for-profit facility and is licensed for Medicare and Medicaid, with reported bed counts at 60, 80, and a 120-bed capacity, so you'll see a good number of people living and working here, each with their own routines. Residents can get skilled nursing care and rehabilitation services like physical, occupational, and speech therapy, whether they're recovering from surgery or dealing with long-term health issues, and memory care is offered for people living with dementia symptoms in a dedicated area. The staff covers both medical and personal care, medications, and daily tasks, and the team includes registered nurses, dieticians, and activity professionals who try to meet residents' physical and emotional needs. Rooms come in private or semi-private options, and efforts are made to provide personalized comfort, with windows and access to fresh air, which is pleasant especially in spring or fall. Family involvement is a big part of the care philosophy, so families are encouraged to stay engaged and connected. Residents have transportation for outings, and planned social activities include music, fitness, religious gatherings, games, entertainment, cookouts, field trips, shopping trips, arts and crafts, and excursions, which gives people plenty of ways to pass the time and stay active in their own way. The center offers several levels of living-from assisted and independent living to memory and dementia care-with different support for different needs, and holds many get-togethers and group activities to keep community spirit up for those who want to join in. State-of-the-art therapy equipment is used in recovery programs, and outpatient therapy is available too. People at Riverview get medical care along with a homelike feel, and the center tries to blend professional care with a sense of home. The facility is recognized locally for community involvement and care centered on each person, focusing on helping residents keep as much independence and comfort as possible. License and credentials are on file and it's best to verify them directly if that's important to you, since information can change. Overall, Riverview Nursing & Rehab Center aims to provide straightforward nursing care, rehabilitation, and daily living support for seniors in the Greenwood area, set up to help people through whatever stage of care they need.
