I'm very satisfied with Bedford. The staff are friendly, devoted and attentive - they include family in the care plan, take time to answer questions, and treated my mom with dignity. Her mobility and condition improved dramatically with knowledgeable, effective therapists; the building, rooms, food, grounds and fenced outdoor area are clean and pleasant. Great, compassionate care - I'd recommend it.

Summary of reviews
The reviews present a polarized picture of Bedford Care Center of Hattiesburg, LLC. Many families describe positive short-term outcomes for rehabilitative patients and warm, person-centered interactions with direct-care staff. At the same time, a number of critiques point to operational weaknesses that have a material effect on daily resident experience. Prospective residents and families should weigh the facility’s strengths in therapy and social environment against recurring concerns about staffing, housekeeping, and management communication.
Care and clinical services: Several families reported notable improvement in mobility and recovery during rehabilitation, crediting knowledgeable therapists and an ability to make measurable progress. Those experiences point to effective therapy programs for motivated short-term rehab patients. Conversely, other accounts describe inadequate monitoring after surgery and repeated hospital transfers, indicating gaps in post-operative observation and escalation. Overall, clinical performance appears inconsistent: strong for some rehab trajectories, and problematic where continuous monitoring or coordinated care planning is required.
Staff and workforce: Direct-care employees are frequently described as caring, attentive, and respectful; reviewers highlight staff who take time to explain care plans, remember residents, and treat people with dignity. However, persistent references to overworked CNAs and low wages suggest staffing shortages and workforce instability. Those staffing constraints are linked in reviews to delays in routine care and rushed interactions. Communication tone and occasional rudeness were also raised as concerns in some accounts, indicating variability in staff conduct and training.
Dining, activities, and facilities: Positive comments note a pleasant physical environment — a well-kept building, attractive grounds, clean common areas, and a secure outdoor space with picnic tables. The dining program receives generally favorable comments about food quality. Activity offerings and family involvement in care planning are also cited as strengths. At the same time, there are specific cleanliness and housekeeping inconsistencies referenced (overflowing trash, rooms or beds left unattended), which conflict with other reports of clean floors and pleasant air; this suggests uneven implementation of housekeeping practices across shifts or units.
Management and communication: Management and administrative responsiveness are recurring concerns. Reviews mention difficulties reaching leadership, limited follow-through on family inquiries, and a fragmented intake or phone process with multiple transfers. There are also strong criticisms about wage allocation and administrative priorities, and calls from some families for external oversight. These comments point to potential weaknesses in governance, transparency, and staffing strategy rather than to uniformly poor clinical intent.
Notable patterns and considerations: The overall picture is one of mixed performance with clear strengths in rehabilitative therapy and in many individual staff members’ commitment to residents, alongside systemic operational problems tied to staffing levels, housekeeping consistency, and administrative communication. Families considering the facility should visit in person, observe staffing levels on different shifts, ask for current therapy and fall-monitoring protocols, and request examples of how the facility handles care-plan coordination and family communication during clinical changes.

About Bedford Care Center of Hattiesburg, LLC
Bedford Care Center of Hattiesburg, LLC sits in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, as part of the Bedford Care Center network, and people have called it a nursing home and a skilled nursing facility with room for 152 residents, though its skilled-nursing center, called Bedford Care Center Monroe Hall, has 120 beds, so you get a sense that it's a sizable place, and it doesn't hide behind any fancy language because most details are just about what it has and what it tries to do every day. The center offers both long-term and short-term skilled nursing care, and folks can get therapy services right on site in well-equipped rehab rooms, and there's also an aggressive therapy program in the rehabilitation unit for those who need serious attention. The Wound Care Program is led by a certified nurse, and they bring in specialized therapists for respiratory care, so residents get care from people who know what they're doing in those fields. There's a partnership with Pearl River Community College School of Nursing, giving the center an on-site Dedicated Educational Unit, and that's a detail that not every place has, so you know there's real interaction with nurses and students who want to learn and help.
The place has some awards, like the 2017 Silver - Achievement in Quality Award and the 2018 Bronze - Commitment to Quality Award, and both probably mean they put extra work into how they care for people. People who visit or live there have given it a 4.0 out of 5-star rating based on eight reviews, which sounds decent and lets you know people pay attention to how things go. If you ask about how it feels to be there, you hear about landscaped yards, outdoor patio areas, flower gardens that you can get to with a wheelchair, and a big gazebo, which might mean people can actually enjoy being outside and moving around.
Inside, residents have a sunroom that connects to a courtyard, and that leads you to a big dining area, and in that dining room, you'll see a baby grand piano and a fireplace, so families or visitors sometimes gather there. There's a covered patio right off the dining room, and a family room with its own fireplace, which probably stays cozy when people want it. There's also a beauty shop, a transportation van for appointments and outings, and a spacious activity room with a grand piano, so folks have things to do and some normalcy to daily life, and you can sense there's an effort to nourish not just bodies but spirits through recreation and shared spaces. Bedford Care Center accepts Medicaid and Medicare, which lets a variety of people get care for both short and long periods, and they say in their mission that they want to offer peace of mind not just for residents but for the families, with a patient-centered approach and an eye on caring for the whole person-this includes honoring people's history and legacy as they work to help. The common areas have been updated, and you can find raised flower gardens and manicured lawns if you walk around. While the facility doesn't provide lots of public details about everything, these facts give a steady picture of a nursing home setting that keeps trying to provide good skilled nursing and rehabilitation along with attention to the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of its residents.
