I was initially skeptical, but after my loved one's rehab stay I'm very pleased - the staff (Ms. Margie included) were kind, knowledgeable and truly supportive, doctors and CNAs attentive, and therapy was top-notch twice daily which sped recovery. The facility was spotless, rooms private, food tasty with good variety, and staff kept family informed and encouraged visits. Overall a very positive experience - I'd recommend it.

Summary of reviews
Reviewers describe a facility with clear strengths in medical oversight and rehabilitation but notable variability in day-to-day caregiving and operations. Positive experiences center on physician availability and an active therapy program; reviewers credit physical and occupational therapy with helping residents regain strength, and some families received regular progress briefings. The facility offers private rooms, tidy public spaces, shiny tile common areas, and a menu with varied, palatable options. Evening and weekend activities and a courteous transportation/driver service were also cited as beneficial for short-term stays and rehab-focused admissions.
At the same time, a consistent pattern of operational concerns emerges. Caregiving quality is inconsistent: while some nursing staff are described as professional and attentive, CNAs and direct-care aides are frequently characterized as variable in competence and interpersonal tone. Families raised concerns about delayed clinical responses, including extended call-button wait times and slow attention to emerging medical issues; examples include delayed antibiotic treatment and prolonged response intervals. There are specific gaps in personal-care routines and incontinence-related assistance and in consistent linen replacement practices, which reflect broader staffing and workflow weaknesses rather than isolated incidents.
Facility maintenance and housekeeping present mixed signals. Many reviewers praised the cleanliness of common areas, but others noted uneven room-level maintenance such as worn or stained carpeting, shower mold and leaks, and inconsistent room preparations on arrival. These maintenance inconsistencies can affect comfort and perception of care. Transfer and mobility-safety practices were also questioned, with concerns about inconsistent use of gait belts and bumpy transportation to appointments suggesting room for improvement in resident-handling protocols.
Communication and management practices drew repeated attention. Families reported lapses in communication about clinical events and infection-control information, missing contact numbers or confusing fax/phone availability, and disputes over billing or sitter charges. Some reviewers perceived an organizational focus on Medicare billing and throughput, which they felt sometimes competed with individualized caregiving. Nighttime coverage and sitter availability were specifically cited as areas of weakness.
In summary, this facility may be well suited for residents seeking focused, short-term rehabilitation supported by active therapy teams and attentive physicians. Prospective residents and families should be cautious if long-term memory-care needs or high-dependency personal-care support are primary concerns. Before admission, families may wish to ask detailed questions about CNA staffing levels and training, night and sitter coverage, call-response expectations, dementia-care capabilities, linen/room-prep protocols, and billing practices to match the facility's operational profile with the resident's needs.

About Wisteria Gardens
Wisteria Gardens is a nursing home and rehabilitation center located in Mississippi that takes care of seniors with a focus on comfort, respect, and independence, where folks can choose from independent living, assisted living, or skilled nursing care depending on what they need, and if someone needs help getting dressed, bathing, using the bathroom, or needs a personal care assistant, staff can help with all of that. Wisteria Gardens has 52 private beds and each room is about 250 square feet, with a private bathroom and a shower that's easy to get into, and there's also air conditioning, cable TV, and WiFi, plus washers and dryers folks can use, and you'll find things like a dining room, a fitness center, and a salon or barbershop on the property. There's a big activity room for games or crafts, plenty of common spaces where people can gather, and an outdoor courtyard with walking paths and places to sit, and when company visits, there's guest parking too. Meals are chef-prepared and come to the table in a restaurant-style setting with flexible menus, and if someone prefers, they can get room service instead, plus kitchens or kitchenettes are in the rooms if you want to make something yourself. Staff help with housekeeping, laundry, and building upkeep, and help make sure everyone's safe and comfortable-there's always someone, either a nurse or another trained worker, on hand 24 hours a day for care or emergencies. If medical needs come up, the center offers nursing care, wound care, medication support, occupational therapy, podiatry, and has a full therapy team offering physical, occupational, and speech therapy right onsite, so folks recovering from surgery, illness, or injury can work toward getting better while staying in a comfortable space. The social services and activity teams set up health programs, educational classes, arts and crafts, and group activities so people can keep busy and meet new folks, and the transportation service helps residents get to offsite appointments or events. Safety features like sprinklers and accessible bathrooms are standard, and everything is designed to let people keep their dignity and privacy while getting the help they need. Wisteria Gardens takes Medicare, long-term care insurance, and credit cards, so there are a few different ways to pay, and the property is a licensed Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) recognized by the State of Mississippi. The staff work with residents' own doctors to create thorough treatment and recovery plans and have experience in everything from rehabilitation therapies to nutrition, making it possible for folks to get personal care as their needs change.
