    Caring, clean, comfortable, safe community

I placed my loved one here and have been very happy overall. Tara, Olivia and the staff are caring, responsive and treat residents like family. The community is clean, well-maintained and homey, with roomy one-bed apartments (nice bathroom, vanity, linen closet, fridge/microwave), plentiful activities (exercise, chapel, bingo, outings), an on-site beauty shop, reliable maintenance and nursing coverage, and fair pricing. Comfortable, safe, and highly recommendable, with only minor room for improvement.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Providence Assisted Living appears to offer a warm, home-like environment with strong emphasis on social engagement and daily living supports. Reviewers frequently describe the direct-care staff as caring, attentive, and helpful; many cite smooth move-in experiences and staff who treat residents like family. The community’s manageable size, recent renovations, and clean common areas contribute to a comfortable setting for residents and visiting family.

Care and clinical coverage: Clinical observations are mixed. Several families praised daytime nursing presence and on-call support, while others raised concerns that RN-level coverage is inconsistent and that night shifts are staffed primarily by aides. High staff turnover and periodic shortages were mentioned as ongoing operational issues. Medication management emerged as a recurring concern, including instances of inconsistent administration and nonstandard storage practices. Prospective families should verify current nursing schedules, medication-administration protocols, and overnight coverage during a tour and in writing prior to a move-in.

Staff and management: Individual staff members and departmental leads received consistently positive remarks for warmth, professionalism, and responsiveness. Maintenance and support staff were noted as prompt and helpful. At the same time, reviewers indicated a pattern of staffing changes and suggested that families sometimes need to remain actively engaged to ensure continuity of care. There are also indications that certain advertised amenities or service levels may not always align exactly with day-to-day practice; confirm amenity availability and service details with management.

Dining and nutrition: Dining is a mixed area. The facility offers multiple dining areas and a notable midday meal that many residents enjoy. However, some families expressed dissatisfaction with food quality, portioning, and lack of differentiation for therapeutic diets such as hypertension or diabetes. If specialized dietary needs are a priority, families should review menu planning and accommodation processes during a visit.

Activities and lifestyle: Activity offerings are a clear strength. The community maintains a full-time activities director and a varied calendar that includes exercise classes, chapel services, games, outings (including fishing trips), and social events that encourage mingling. On-site personal services—hair salon, foot care—add convenience and contribute to residents’ quality of life.

Facilities and apartments: Physical spaces are generally described as clean, well-kept, and recently updated (including new flooring). Apartment units are reported to be spacious, with adequate bathroom size, vanity space, linen closets, and small appliances (refrigerator, microwave). The campus layout and staff responsiveness support easy family visits when relatives live nearby; families who are farther away should assess travel logistics.

Notable patterns and recommendations: The dominant positive pattern is strong day-to-day resident support and a lively activities program that supports quality of life. The primary operational concerns center on clinical staffing stability, medication-management practices, and inconsistent meal accommodations. Prospective residents and families should tour the community, request current staffing rosters (including RN coverage and overnight staffing), review written medication and pharmacy policies, sample meals if possible, and clarify advertised amenities in writing. Those steps will help align expectations with current operations and identify whether Providence meets the clinical and lifestyle needs of the resident.

    About Providence Assisted Living

Providence Assisted Living is a small, family-owned senior community where the goal is to help residents feel comfortable, safe, and at home, and even though the building has newer features and all, what stands out is the strong sense of caring you find among everyone, because here, each person-staff, visitors, and residents-takes the role of a caregiver or a friend, supporting each other every day. Residents get help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, preparing meals, and cleaning, and the caring staff includes nurses with different levels of training, therapists, nutritionists, and recreation staff, so there's always someone around who knows how to help. Residents can continue to live with independence, but support is always close by, whether that's help managing medications, sorting mail, or paying bills, and this means everyone can enjoy a carefree lifestyle focused on joyful living and their own interests.

The facility is designed for comfort, so you'll find carpeted studio apartments with oversized walk-in closets, television and phone hookups, modern kitchenettes with a fridge and microwave, and views of the grounds and the larger community, which means there's plenty of privacy in your space but lots of places to gather with friends, whether that's in the indoor common areas, at family events, or during the many social and educational activities on the calendar. There are modern amenities like a WII gaming system and a computer room open to all residents, and meals are part of the service, so no one has to worry about cooking every day. Providence Assisted Living also offers a full range of therapy services whenever needed and access to outside specialists, including podiatrists, dentists, optometrists, and psychologists, which can be important as needs change over time.

For people facing memory challenges like Alzheimer's or dementia, the Reflections program is available and provides secure apartments and specialized care, including custom plans and cognitive engagement activities to help residents stay safe and active for as long as possible. The goal is to help each person age in place, with as much independence as they can manage, while relieving families of some of the burden of care. There's always a focus on building close relationships, so families feel included and supported, and everyone works together to make daily life fun, safe, and meaningful, whether that's joining an activity, attending devotional services, or just relaxing in a homelike setting that encourages both independence and togetherness.
