    Compassionate staff, beautiful senior community

I moved my mom into this brand-new, impeccably clean community and have been very pleased - the staff treat her like family, are compassionate and attentive, and she's genuinely happy and busy with activities instead of just watching TV. The facility is beautiful inside and out (cottages, porches, wooded views), rooms are spacious and comfortable, dining is upscale with good food, and there are great amenities like a fitness room, salon and movie theater. Overall it exceeded our expectations and offers strong value for caring, professional senior living.

    Summary of reviews

Field Pointe Assisted Living is described by families as a modern, well-appointed facility with a strong set of amenities and an active lifestyle program. Reviewers consistently note the building is new, clean, and attractive, with studios and one‑bedroom layouts that include large bathrooms, walk‑in closets, and some partially furnished options. Grounds and outdoor spaces — porches, patios, wooded views and birdwatching opportunities — are highlighted as pleasant features, and the single-level design and private entrances improve accessibility for many residents.

Dining and activities are frequent strengths in the feedback. Several families praised the dining presentation (cloth napkins, plated meals), varied menu choices including an alternative menu, ample portions, and constant snack/beverage availability. The community offers a range of amenities — fitness room, movie theater, salon, clubhouse, library, and an active calendar with puzzles, bus trips, men’s group and other planned events — that many residents find engaging and restorative. Housekeeping and clubhouse activity planning are noted as routine services that support day‑to‑day comfort.

Care and staff performance elicited mixed responses. Many reviewers described staff as compassionate, attentive, and willing to go above and beyond, with specific mentions of managers who are accessible and staff who foster a warm, family‑like environment. At the same time, a recurring concern centers on staffing patterns: reviewers describe times when clinical nursing presence is limited and shifts with single-staff coverage, which can create delays in care or reduce the level of hands‑on supervision. There are also reports pointing to inconsistencies in medication-management practices and family communication; a small number of more serious allegations about medication handling were raised and should prompt direct questions during a tour.

Management and operational consistency appear to be the primary divergence in impressions. Positive accounts emphasize helpful, engaged leadership and a progression of services that met residents’ changing needs; negative accounts highlight perceived limited management engagement on the care floor, uneven staff morale, and variable professionalism or responsiveness to family concerns. Financial and admission issues surfaced as well: while Medicaid assistance and available skilled‑nursing services are mentioned as advantages, some families experienced barriers or unclear policies around Medicaid admission and device/liability rules (for example, power chairs).

Overall, Field Pointe presents as a high‑quality physical environment with robust programming and pleasing dining for many residents, but with operational vulnerabilities that matter for clinical dependability and family confidence. Prospective residents and families should schedule an in-person visit during meal time and a staffed shift change, ask for current staffing ratios and clinical coverage schedules, request written medication‑management and Medicaid admission policies, and speak with current residents or family references to assess consistency of care and management responsiveness.
