    Caring staff, comfortable apartment, peace

I placed my mom at Auberge and I'm very pleased - the staff are genuinely caring and skilled, the apartment is comfortable and clean, meals are good, and there are plenty of engaging activities. The team (special thanks to Rhea, Mary and Amaya) made the move smooth and gave our family real peace of mind; I would recommend this warm, welcoming community.

    Summary of reviews

Missoula Valley Senior Living receives frequent praise for interpersonal care and community life. Across many accounts, caregiving staff are described as warm, compassionate and resident-focused, with clinical and medical staff generally seen as skilled and attentive. Families commonly note personalized attention, proactive responses to acute health changes, and strong support through transitions and move-in. The activities program and social opportunities are repeatedly described as varied and engaging; residents and families highlight a home-like atmosphere, renovated common areas, and comfortable, roomy apartments in a convenient location.

Dining impressions are mixed but often positive: multiple families describe enjoyable meals and thoughtful menu accommodations, while others characterize food as average or bland and express a desire for greater menu diversity. Renovations and cleanliness are cited as strengths in many descriptions, though there are isolated concerns about housekeeping consistency and occasional odor control in specific areas.

Operational themes include variability in staffing and management. Reviewers report periods of insufficient staffing, especially on night shifts and at the front desk, and cite elevated staff turnover and uneven morale. These staffing issues are linked in some accounts to delays or inconsistencies in responsiveness and family communication. Several families specifically raised concerns about emergency incident coordination, transfer safety, and timeliness of family notification; facility layout and distance to dining were noted as limiting for residents with reduced mobility, suggesting the community is better suited to residents who are largely mobile.

Administrative and policy matters show mixed impressions. Some respondents commend an organized, accountable office manager and timely follow-up when leadership engages; others describe customer-service problems such as delayed refunds, billing or fee-transparency issues, and occasional breakdowns in follow-through. Transportation offerings have been described as billed but inconsistently available in some accounts. A small number of families shared serious, individual concerns — including issues following a resident's death — that prompted follow-up by leadership in particular cases.

Overall, the facility is frequently recommended for those prioritizing compassionate, person-centered caregiving, active programming, and a renovated, home-like environment. Prospective residents and families should weigh these strengths against operational considerations: verify current staffing levels (particularly for nights and front-desk coverage), review accessibility relative to mobility needs, ask about transportation reliability and housekeeping schedules, and seek clear, written explanations of fees and refund policies before committing.

    About Missoula Valley Senior Living

Missoula Valley Senior & Assisted Living, also known as The Auberge at Missoula Valley, sits quietly in the middle of Missoula and keeps life comfortable for seniors by offering assisted living, memory care, and home care services, all in a single-story building that's easy to get around. People can pick from roomy studio, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom apartments, each with full kitchens, safety features in the bathrooms, and their own heating or air-conditioning, and there's choices between different sizes like 342, 392, 502, or even 750 square feet, so seniors can find a space that feels right. Meals come from scratch, with chef-inspired menus that suit special diets, and meals are part of the package, along with housekeeping, linen service, and laundry, which means chores are taken care of. The community has indoor and outdoor areas for residents to relax or join movie nights and other events, plus an on-site beauty salon and spaces for devotional services. Staff, including nurses, are around to help with daily activities and medication, and there's always someone there for emergencies, day or night. Memory care is given special attention, with a secure setting and the Spark Lifestyle Program, which gets seniors involved in social, educational, and fun things every day to help with brain health. Physical, occupational, and speech therapy are all available, and the staff encourages family involvement, keeping in touch and supporting the whole family as much as they can. Pets are welcome, transportation to appointments is offered, and the building is easy for wheelchairs and walkers to move around in. People can expect tailored care plans, privacy, and support with basic needs like bathing and grooming, while being encouraged to stay as independent as possible. The neighborhood is quiet, but it's a short trip to shopping, parks, or medical clinics, which is handy. The place has a steady 7.9 out of 10 rating, which puts it about seventh in Missoula, and it's part of the Frontier Management network, which means you'll see some established practices here when it comes to handling assisted living and memory care.
