    Compassionate reliable memory care facility

I placed my mom at Legato Living for memory care and I'm very pleased. Erin and Jill lead a professional, educated, loving team with a great staff-to-resident ratio in a small, home-like setting where residents are treated with dignity and personalized attention. Communication is excellent - frequent updates, photo check-ins, and smooth collaboration with her doctor and hospice - and the caregivers consistently go above and beyond. The facility is clean, welcoming, and active with meals and activities; I would recommend Legato for compassionate, reliable memory care.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews describe Legato Living at Legacy as a small, home-like memory-care community with consistently high marks for individualized, compassionate care. Families emphasize a personalized approach to residents’ daily needs, close caregiver–resident relationships, and a high caregiver-to-resident ratio that supports attentive supervision. Clinical coordination — including collaboration with hospice and primary care — is presented as a strength, and reviewers frequently note stable, experienced staff members who contribute to a calm, residential atmosphere.

Care and staff: The facility is characterized by a strong, family-centered culture and engaged leadership. Caregivers are described as professional, educated, and emotionally invested; leadership is accessible and actively communicates with families, often providing photo updates and timely condition reports. Reviewers highlight dignity and respect in interactions, proactive outreach to families, and staff who go beyond basic duties to support emotional needs. While the prevailing theme is consistent dedication and reliability, a limited number of reviewers raised concerns about unprofessional or culturally insensitive remarks by some staff, indicating an area for focused training and policy reinforcement.

Dining and activities: Meals are described as nutritious with generous portions and generally well received by residents and families. Activity programming appears varied and social — examples include arts and crafts, animal-therapy visits, birthday celebrations, daily blessings, and informal social events that foster resident engagement. These programs contribute to the home-like ambiance and are used to create meaningful moments for residents and families.

Facilities and management: The physical environment is portrayed as clean, recently remodeled, and small in scale, which supports a residential rather than institutional feel. Management and ownership are repeatedly described as hands-on, accessible, and communicative; reviewers credit leadership with easing family burden and coordinating care. Photo updates, proactive communication, and visible administrative involvement are recurring positive notes.

Notable patterns and considerations: Strengths cluster around personalized memory care, strong caregiver engagement, and proactive family communication. The principal operational concern evident across the feedback is occasional lapses in staff professionalism and cultural sensitivity; addressing these concerns through staff training, oversight, and clear behavior standards would align with the facility’s otherwise strong person-centered practices. For prospective residents and families, the facility’s small size, high staff ratio, hospice collaboration, and active leadership are likely to be important advantages, while inquiring about staff training on cultural competence and professional conduct would be prudent during a tour or intake conversation.

    About Legato Living at Legacy

Legato Living at Legacy sits in Omaha, right across from Lakeside Hospital, so residents and family find medical care nearby, along with pharmacies, parks, cafes, and other neighborhood comforts, and the big home's ranch style makes it easy to move around, even for folks who aren't able to walk much on their own. The home's ranch design offers well-lit, open living spaces, wide hallways, and a large sunroom for sitting together, while a recently redone garden level gives a calm spot for rest or family gatherings on holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. You'll notice gardens, walking paths, and safe open areas outside, and the staff always encourage time outdoors if the weather lets them, which helps keep everyone active and gives a sense of independence.

Legato Living at Legacy supports assisted living and memory care under one roof, focusing on people living with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other memory problems and offering help for both ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents. The team, led by compassionate owners and nurses, along with assistants-names like Erin Render, Jill McMahon, and Andy Singh come to mind-are deeply involved every day and keep staffing at higher levels than most places, so folks get more attention, especially as their needs grow. Meals here get planned with special diets in mind, like low sugar or allergy-sensitive, and the kitchen staff cook fresh, nutritious food daily in a home-style way. There are daily activities, arts and crafts, health and wellness programs, movie nights, and memory enhancement exercises, plus options for education and social time, always meant to support cognitive, physical, and emotional well-being.

Residents choose from private or semi-private rooms, studio apartments, or even two-bed assisted living units, and each room features good natural light, cable TV, and handy things like washers and dryers, with housekeepers and laundry staff who keep things tidy and comfortable, and some rooms have kitchenettes too. Community spaces include a dining room, activity room, salon/barbershop, gardens, a fitness spot, easily accessible WiFi, and guest parking for visitors. The home takes safety seriously, with emergency alert systems, wheelchair and walking help, handrails where needed, and a sprinkler system for fire. The staff help with all the daily things-bathing, dressing, grooming, transfers, medicine, toileting-and provide 24-hour supervision; nurses help with wound care, there's support from occupational therapy, and residents can see a podiatrist when they need. For those needing more, the home offers hospice care, respite stays, adult daycare, and end-of-life care, working closely with hospice professionals and always keeping families informed of any changes in health.

Families visit freely, and the atmosphere's friendly, calm, and welcoming, with most who stay describing it as the next best thing to living in their own home, and the staff try to support everyone-residents with memory needs, folks recovering strength, or those simply needing a supportive home-like place-so everyone can age with some comfort and dignity. This is a locally owned business, with two locations in Omaha, run by people who are always available and involved, and the focus stays on steady routines and a respectful, family-style approach so big transitions or moves aren't needed as care needs grow. Legato Living at Legacy accepts long-term care insurance, follows Nebraska health rules, and is also known as Render Group, LLC, ComfortCare Homes, and ComfortCare Homes of Nebraska, always aiming for a simple, supportive, and safe environment for each resident.
