    Dignified compassionate skilled rehab care

I'm deeply grateful for the dignified, compassionate end-of-life and rehab care my family received - nurses, CNAs and therapists gave attentive, individualized support and constant check-ins. Staff like Mildred, Jinky and case manager Cindy were exceptional; the facility was spotless, hotel-like, with great meals and strong OT/PT. I'm very satisfied and would gladly recommend this caring, professional team.

    Summary of reviews

Advanced Health Care of Las Vegas elicits a strongly mixed but largely polarized set of impressions: many families and patients describe an upscale, rehab-focused facility with excellent therapy and consistently compassionate frontline caregivers, while other accounts describe operational gaps that materially affected clinical comfort and family confidence.

Care and clinical services: The facility is frequently praised for its physical and occupational therapy programs, rehabilitation gym, and therapy-driven outcomes; several reviewers recounted meaningful functional gains and proactive therapy planning. Nursing assistants and many RNs receive high marks for bedside care, dignity-preserving interactions, and assistance with activities of daily living. At the same time, there are recurring concerns about inconsistent nursing competency and staff training, slow responses to call lights, and uneven medication administration or pain-management timing. A number of families described delayed physician availability or limited medical oversight during certain shifts, and isolated accounts raised serious concerns about wound care and feeding assistance; these items suggest variability in clinical consistency rather than uniform system performance.

Staff and management: Individual staff members across rolesโ€”CNAs, therapists, case managers, and front-desk personnelโ€”are frequently singled out for professionalism, warmth, and effective communication. Case management and specific clinicians were noted as proactive and helpful in care coordination. Conversely, reviews also describe incidents of unprofessional or insensitive conduct, inconsistent family communication, and tensions around administrative interactions. Billing and reimbursement conflicts, including upfront payment and follow-up reimbursement difficulties, were raised multiple times and represent an operational area families should clarify in advance.

Dining and activities: Dining is a clear strength for many residents: reviewers consistently highlight varied menus, appealing presentation, accommodating special-diet requests, and a pleasant communal dining environment. Some reviewers, however, experienced inconsistent meal delivery, temperature control issues, and occasional small-portion concerns. Activities and social programmingโ€”crafts, group engagements, and peer connectionsโ€”were positively described and contributed to a home-like atmosphere for many guests.

Facilities and environment: The setting is often described as clean, bright, and hotel-like, with private, roomy rooms and accessible amenities. That perception is tempered by reports of intermittent sanitation and incontinence-care concerns in particular areas, occasional supply shortages (linens, personal-care items), and HVAC/room-comfort gaps at night. These suggest the physical plant and housekeeping protocols are generally strong but not uniformly executed across all units or shifts.

Patterns and recommendations: The overall pattern is one of high potential and many exemplary staff, counterbalanced by operational inconsistency. Prospective residents and families would be best served by verifying specific operational matters during the admission process: staffing ratios and training, medication administration policies and escalation procedures, physician coverage hours, supply-management practices, billing and reimbursement protocols, and how the facility documents and responds to family concerns. Visiting during different times of day and speaking directly with therapy, nursing leadership, and the case manager can help assess whether the strengths highlighted by many families align with the care needs of a particular resident.

About Advanced Health Care of Las Vegas

Advanced Health Care of Las Vegas sits in a modern, resort-style community and has ties with hospitals like Sunrise Hospital, MountainView Hospital, and Southern Hills Hospital, which means doctors and staff work closely across all the Sunrise Health System Plus Care Network. The facility runs as part of Advanced Health Care, with New Ahc Holdings, LLC, as the direct owner and Robert Jewett as manager as of August 2024, and while it does aim to provide compassionate, skilled nursing and rehabilitation, inspection reports show it's had 11 deficiencies, including some related to infection control, pain management, and pharmacy services. Residents in this private, for-profit facility can expect 24-hour nursing care, both inpatient and outpatient, with licensed nurses on site every hour of every day, and a team that includes a full-time registered nurse, a physician, and specialists in physical, occupational, and speech therapies.

The facility opened in 2011, has recently renovated its living spaces, and holds 38 certified beds, with an average of 36 residents each day and the staffing set at around 5.83 nurse hours per resident. The nurse turnover rate, nearly 24%, means some changes occur among nursing staff throughout the year. Advanced Health Care of Las Vegas offers private deluxe suites with private bathrooms, adjustable beds, TVs, phones, and internet access-each aiming to make residents comfortable and supported. Social activities fill the calendar, there's a library, a beauty salon, a private dining room with fine, restaurant-style meals, and a warm fireplace in the shared areas, along with a courtyard patio out back for fresh air. Registered dieticians keep an eye on everyone's nutrition, creating cardiac and diabetic-friendly meals as needed.

Engaging programs, transportation services, and beautiful landscaping help foster a homelike feel, and there's a focus on helping residents regain their independence, especially after a hospital stay. Specialists assess each resident and tailor care plans for short-term and long-term stays, and the therapy staff, including in-house therapists overseen by physicians, provide care aimed at speedy but safe recovery. The AHC Home of Las Vegas, which is their luxury branch, adds some upgraded finishes, but the focus stays on medical care and comfort all around. Recent recognition by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and industry awards highlight the facility's ongoing work, though families should take note of documented deficiencies when considering this option. Advanced Health Care of Las Vegas operates as a community where residents are encouraged to feel valued, with staff working to create a safe, supported environment, but as with any facility it's good to review the inspection history and understand the services and amenities on offer.
