    Clean facility, friendly staff, reassuring

I toured the community and was impressed - very clean, well-kept facility with friendly, knowledgeable staff who made the move-in smooth. My parent settled into a comfortable, hotel-like room, enjoys the food and regular activities, and has made friends. Strong nursing/therapy support and responsive management give me real peace of mind; I'd recommend checking it out.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews present a mixed but instructive picture of care at Cherry Hill Senior Living. Many families and visitors describe genuinely caring and attentive frontline staff, a visible nursing presence at times, useful in-house therapy services, and a strong memory-care program (Bridge to Rediscovery). The community's dining and social programming receive frequent praise for variety, holiday events, family-style dining, and an overall welcoming atmosphere. Physical spaces—renovated lobby, clean common areas, and hotel-style rooms—are cited as positive features, and private-room availability under Medicaid and respite options are noted as practical advantages.

At the same time, a consistent pattern of operational weaknesses appears across reviews. Chronic understaffing and high turnover are recurrent themes and are linked to delays in responding to call bells, delays in medication administration, and inconsistent housekeeping. Several families described sanitation concerns and odor concerns in specific areas, and there are accounts pointing to lapses in incontinence-care timeliness and laundry management. These issues suggest variability in day-to-day care processes and in housekeeping quality rather than uniform facility-wide performance.

Safety and supervision are another area of mixed feedback. While some reviewers praised attentive caregivers and a safe environment, others raised concerns about monitoring and fall-prevention practices, particularly for residents with dementia, and about how dementia care areas are managed. There are also reports of variable staff conduct and professionalism; a small number of reviewers described alleged incidents of aggressive handling and poor medication response, which highlight the need for clear clinical protocols, staff training, and incident communication procedures.

Management and communication emerged as an important pattern: reviewers reported frequent management changes, uneven responsiveness to family concerns, and inconsistent information during tours or admissions. Conversely, other families found admissions and move-in staff to be helpful and informative. Dining and activities show strength in variety and special events, but some reviewers noted cancelled or late activities and limited menu choices at times, which points to scheduling and staffing influences on program continuity.

For prospective residents and families: Cherry Hill offers several appealing features—memory-care programming, on-site therapy, private-room options, friendly dining, and attractive communal spaces—but there are recurring operational challenges tied to staffing, housekeeping consistency, medication processes, and management stability. Visitors should tour the community, observe staffing levels at different times of day, ask for details on medication-administration protocols, dementia supervision practices, housekeeping standards, and recent staffing turnover, and request written information about move-in costs and ongoing pricing to determine alignment with family expectations.

    About Cherry Hill Senior Living

Cherry Hill Senior Living sits on a 5.5-acre property in Cherry Hill, NJ and has been around since 1999, offering a range of care options for older adults, so you'll find independent living, assisted living, memory care in a secure separate building, nursing home stays, and even home care where aides can help at your own home-with all these services, there's also long-term care, rehab after surgery or illness, respite for short stays, and hospice support if needed. Each level of care is adjusted, so some residents just need a little help, while most get a medium level of support with things like bathing, grooming, medication, or reminders to use the bathroom, and nurses, physical therapists, dentists, and podiatrists all come in to see folks as needed and staff stay on-site around the clock for safety and emergencies. The studio apartments can hold full-size furniture and are kept in good shape, and the campus always allows for both indoor and outdoor activities, like an in-house movie theater, a billiards room, an ice cream parlor, and an outdoor fire pit, along with plenty of common areas, both indoor and out, so there are places to sit and chat, socialize, or just relax. Meals are served in a restaurant-style dining room, cooked with good ingredients to keep residents healthy, and snacks like ice cream offer a bit of comfort and fun, and housekeeping and laundry are taken care of so daily chores don't become a worry. There's a hub of activity-from exercise and movement programs to social, educational, and devotional events both on and off property-plus an on-site beautician for haircuts and grooming, and a whirlpool for relaxing. Memory care includes safety bracelets and locked doors to help prevent wandering, with supervision staff who have experience working with folks with Alzheimer's or dementia, who can stay safe and engaged with adapted activities, and there's also extra help for people who move around in wheelchairs, need incontinence care, or require diabetic support, including help with blood sugar checks, and medication can be handled by staff, whether pills or injections if the person's already managing that before. Residents who smoke have an outdoor area to do so, and pets are welcome, so both cats and dogs can stay-though of course there's always supervision if an animal's involved. Transportation's available, making it easier to see doctors or go out, and there's both complimentary rides and places to park if people drive or have guests, with bus lines nearby, and the whole property is wheelchair friendly, with wide doors and showers. Cherry Hill Senior Living is part of Five Star Senior Living and keeps a nurse and an activity director full-time, with plenty of staff onsite to help with everything from movement and meals to companionship, and the whole place has emergency response technology in case someone needs fast help. There's nothing fancy in their claims-just a focus on decent care, sensible routines, and a range of support to let folks age in place safely and comfortably.
