    Charming spotless home, excellent care

I'm moving in next week and very pleased with this small, charming, spotless home with beautiful gardens and comfortable master bedrooms. The staff are professional, compassionate, and attentive (about a 1:3 ratio), providing excellent personal and medical care with a safety-first focus. The owner/manager is accommodating, the facility is licensed, and I strongly recommend this intimate community for individualized, comfortable care.

    Summary of reviews

This facility is described as a small, intimate assisted-living home with an emphasis on a homelike atmosphere and close, personalized care. Reviewers consistently noted cleanliness, tasteful furnishings, attractive gardens, and rooms positioned for easy access to dining and kitchen areas. The facility maintains a low staff-to-resident ratio and a strong focus on resident safety, which contributes to families' perceptions of reliable personal and medical attention.

Staffing and care are frequently cited as strengths: caregivers are characterized as compassionate, professional, and attentive to individual needs and comfort. Several accounts highlight owner/manager involvement and an accommodating approach to residents and families. The described safety-first orientation and individualized attention suggest the facility is oriented toward residents who require careful supervision and consistent assistance.

Physical plant and accessibility present mixed signals. While the building and grounds are well-kept and the location is appealing, architectural features—multiple stairs, raised thresholds, and shared-bathroom layouts—limit practical wheelchair access despite an ADA approval note. Parking is limited, which may affect visitors and transport arrangements. Prospective residents who use wheelchairs or require accessible bathrooms should verify specific room layouts and mobility accommodations before committing.

Administrative and operational patterns include both positives and cautions. Licensing and compliance history is described favorably, but there are indications of lapses in occupancy and financial administration, including unresolved refund disputes and room-assignment complications. These suggest a need for clear, written contract terms and proactive communication about reservation, refund, and occupancy policies.

Social life and community size are trade-offs: the small scale creates an intimate environment and strong staff–resident bonds, but it also limits the number and variety of peer interactions. Information about structured activities and dining quality is limited in these summaries, so families should ask for an activity schedule, sample menus, and opportunities for social engagement during a tour.

In sum, the facility may suit a prospective resident seeking a clean, small-scale, safety-oriented home with attentive staff and manager involvement. Those needing full wheelchair accessibility, more extensive social programming, or strict administrative safeguards around admissions and refunds should obtain detailed written information and an in-person assessment of accessibility, bathroom arrangements, parking, and contract terms before moving forward.

    About Assisted Living

Assisted Living offers several levels of care, including assisted living, memory care, board and care, and respite care for short-term stays, with unique names like "Home Sweet Home Assisted Living - Roma" for some locations and staff trained to help with Alzheimer's, dementia, medication administration, and all the daily things older folks may need, like bathing, dressing, and managing medications, and the place itself has bright flower garden walkways, water fountain patios for sitting quietly, and rooms that can be private, for couples, or even shared, so people can feel at home and choose what works for them, with apartment living setups giving folks the chance to have their own kitchenettes, private bathrooms, and access to things like air-conditioning, telephone, internet, and cable, and you'll see outdoor and indoor spots for relaxing, organized activities onsite and offsite, and a full-time activity director making schedules full, including counseling, fitness programs, trips, recreational and spiritual events, and onsite devotional services, so there's always something to do but nobody feels crowded, with safety taken seriously through a secured property, emergency response systems, a 24-hour security system, a computerized wander alert system, and a special section built for memory care where staff use bracelets or monitoring systems to keep people safe if they're at risk for wandering, and the nurses, caregivers, and on-call doctors all have training to help if someone needs help getting up, transferring from bed, or even using mechanical lifts, with incontinence care, diabetes support, reminders, and behavioral care for folks with difficult symptoms, so staff get to know each person's routine and stay available around the clock, and because it's a free-standing community, everything's built with seniors in mind-even things like wheelchair accessibility everywhere, visiting nurse services, and property features where everyone can enjoy meal services with kosher and vegetarian choices, chef-planned nutritious meals, and places to eat together or alone, and for those who keep pets, some spots allow cats and dogs with pet care support too, all supported by cleaning, maintenance-free living that takes away the chores of cooking and laundry, and parking and transportation when trips are needed, even as needs change over time, which helps residents stay in one place as care needs grow, so people who need support for memory or health or want to be social or private find the right care and comfort without having to move, and staff are known for being helpful and kind, with community awards for quality of care, so folks notice the effort to keep everything safe, caring, and peaceful.
