Comfortable, engaging, compassionate care community
I moved my mom in six weeks ago and I'm very pleased. It's a small, home-like community where staff truly know residents - compassionate, skilled caregivers with an on-site nurse, attentive management, and thoughtful housekeeping. Large private rooms and baths, a sunny patio, restaurant-quality meals, and active programming keep residents comfortable and engaged. I would recommend this warm, well-run place to families.

Summary of reviews
The reviews paint a strongly mixed but specific picture of the facility. Many families describe a clean, bright, and well‑kept environment with a home‑like atmosphere, accessible outdoor spaces, open dining and sitting areas, and safety features that meet handicapped standards. The building layout, large private rooms with en‑suite baths, and a dedicated memory‑care unit are frequently cited as strengths that support resident comfort and dignity.
Care quality is described positively in numerous accounts: staff are often characterized as compassionate, patient, and gentle in resident handling, and several families praised on‑site nursing and thoughtful transition support. Activities programming, family involvement, and dietitian‑planned menus also receive consistent praise; some reviewers highlighted restaurant‑style meals served on real plates and use of fresh ingredients. These elements contribute to impressions of value and a comforting daily environment for many residents.
Alongside praise, a set of operational weaknesses recurs across reviews. Leadership and administrative consistency are uneven: some families commend particular managers and compassionate caregivers, while others report poor administrative responsiveness, internal communication gaps, and concerns about payroll or documentation processes. Staffing instability and short staffing are cited as causes of delayed responses, and several reviews indicate inconsistencies in medication administration and record‑keeping. Related concerns include delayed family notification after clinical events, sanitation and incontinence‑care delays, and occasional privacy/HIPAA process lapses.
Dining and kitchen management appear inconsistent: while some report high‑quality, restaurant‑style meals, others describe problems with kitchen supervision and staff conduct that affected mealtimes. Similarly, staff conduct and tone vary in accounts—many describe respectful, dedicated caregivers, but a subset note unprofessional behavior and communication issues. Clinically, families emphasize that the facility may be well suited for assisted living and memory care but is not configured for continuous high‑acuity medical needs or full‑time skilled nursing; prospective residents with high medical complexity should confirm capabilities in advance.
Overall, the pattern is polarized: the facility delivers a very positive experience for many residents—particularly those seeking a small, family‑oriented memory‑care setting with engaging activities and compassionate caregivers—while a minority of families report serious operational and clinical concerns. Prospective residents and families would be well served to tour the unit, observe mealtimes and activity periods, ask about staffing ratios, medication administration protocols, incident‑notification procedures, privacy practices, and payroll/contractual documentation before making a placement decision.

About GoodLife Senior Living & Memory Care
GoodLife Senior Living & Memory Care in Los Lunas, New Mexico, has a smaller community size where staff get to know the residents, and there's a clear focus on personalized care. You'll find assisted living and memory care services here, with separate homes for general senior needs and for Alzheimer's, dementia, and memory support. They've got nurses and a care team on site round the clock, helping with daily things like bathing, dressing, and making sure people take their medicine. They support seniors who need help moving around, offer non-ambulatory care, and provide all-inclusive pricing so you know what to expect. Residents live in furnished rooms that can be private or semi-private-many have private bathrooms, and accommodations are comfortable and spacious, with cable TV and emergency alert systems, including a pendant.
There's help with laundry, housekeeping, dry cleaning, and meal services, and the staff can handle special diets for allergies or diabetes. Residents have transportation, parking, telephone service, and move-in coordination. You'll see a garden with walking paths, a barber and salon, a dining room, and an arts room, plus they've set up community activities like movie nights and outings, giving people plenty of ways to stay social and engaged. They offer respite care and support long-term needs, have English language support, and staff get ethics training. Medications get managed and coordinated with healthcare providers, and families can pay by credit card or check. The facility is state licensed, with 24-hour supervision and skilled nursing always available. GoodLife Senior Living & Memory Care aims to support health, independence, and quality of life for seniors and folks living with memory issues. Staff help with showering, toileting, dressing, grooming, and transfers, while also offering off-site activities and memory care programs to match different needs.
