    Spotless, welcoming facility; excellent care

I felt immediate peace of mind when my mom arrived - the building is spotless, bright, and welcoming, and the staff and administration are warm and responsive. Therapy and nursing care were excellent, meals and activities kept her engaged, and management proactively addresses concerns. I highly recommend this facility for short-term rehab or long-term care.

    Summary of reviews

Pine Acres Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation elicits markedly mixed impressions. Positive accounts emphasize a clean, bright facility with a welcoming admissions process and a strong therapy/rehabilitation program that many families credit with measurable recovery progress. The activities program and common spaces are often described as engaging and well organized, and multiple reviewers praise helpful maintenance, dietary, and housekeeping staff. Several families report compassionate, attentive CNAs and nurses who contribute to a peaceful, family-like atmosphere in many units. Recent management changes are cited by some as evidence of improvement.

At the same time, a consistent pattern of operational weaknesses emerges. Staffing levels and turnover are a recurrent concern: reviewers describe long wait times for assistance, limited nighttime coverage, and delays in attending to basic personal-care needs such as bathing and repositioning. Medication administration and documentation reliability are also highlighted as problem areas, with accounts of missed or delayed medications and inconsistent clinical follow-through. Sanitation practices appear uneven across the building — while some units are described as spotless, others are associated with odor concerns, infrequent sheet or room cleaning, and general sanitation lapses.

Dining and dietary management show variability. Several families commend fresh, nutritious meals and a strong dietary team, particularly for rehabilitation patients. Conversely, others report cold meals, meal tickets not matching served food, and a lack of individualized dietary accommodations. Property control and personal-item management are additional recurring themes: missing clothing, glasses, and phones are cited in multiple entries, and there are serious family concerns about how belongings were handled after a resident’s passing. Reviewers also describe breakdowns in administrative processes, including phone/unreachable staff, billing and insurance handling problems, and inconsistent responsiveness from leadership—although some reviewers specifically note administrative improvements under newer leadership.

Overall, Pine Acres presents as a facility with clear strengths in therapy, certain elements of housekeeping, and an active activities program, alongside tangible operational gaps in staffing, clinical reliability, communication, and property management. Prospective residents and families should weigh the facility’s rehabilitation capabilities and positive staff encounters against documented variability in day-to-day operations, and consider asking targeted questions about staffing ratios, medication administration procedures, personal-item safeguards, infection-control protocols, and recent administrative changes during tours and admissions conversations.
