    Supportive staff and clean facility

I moved my mother here and I'm very pleased. Management was supportive during the transition, staff are polite, attentive and hardworking, the facility is clean, meals are delicious, and the residents are warm and friendly. Basic and assisted care are handled professionally, and I feel confident she's well cared for.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews of Good Samaritan Society - Fargo describe a mixture of clear strengths and persistent operational concerns. On the positive side, multiple accounts emphasize a clean, well-maintained physical environment and an engaged resident community. Meals are frequently described as appealing and well prepared, and many reviewers praised the work ethic and courteousness of frontline staff. The facility appears to provide the expected basic assisted‑living services and some families noted helpful transition assistance when residents moved in or out.

Care-quality comments are mixed and warrant attention. While some families and residents reported positive early experiences, several reviewers described a pattern of declining care quality over time. The most frequently noted clinical concerns relate to medication-management controls and visible instability in nursing leadership; frequent changes in head nurses and broader RN turnover were cited as contributors to inconsistent clinical oversight. Reviewers also described instances of delayed or missed assistance with activities of daily living, including meal assistance, which points to gaps in day‑to‑day caregiving consistency rather than one-time events.

Staffing and communication issues are another recurrent theme. Although frontline caregivers were often characterized as hardworking and polite, families reported inconsistent staffing assignments and difficulties achieving reliable care continuity. These operational inconsistencies are compounded by gaps in care coordination and family communication; some reviewers described the need for active family intervention to resolve problems. Separately, phone-based customer service was identified as an area needing improvement, with some callers experiencing unhelpful or slow responses.

Management receives mixed evaluations. Several reviews acknowledged management efforts to support transitions and the general upkeep of the facility, yet concerns about clinical oversight and staff turnover suggest opportunities for stronger leadership stability and improved processes. For prospective residents and families, strengths to weigh include a clean facility, pleasant meals, and a respectful frontline staff. Areas to monitor closely during tours and meetings with administrators are nursing-staff stability, medication-administration safeguards, protocols for assisting with activities of daily living, and the facility's approach to family communication and phone responsiveness.
