    Warm Christ-centered clean affordable community

I'm very satisfied with this warm, Christ-centered community - it feels home-like and comfortable, residents are happy, and it's run by caring Sisters and respectful, guest-focused staff. The older building has tasteful updates and is impeccably clean, the food is excellent, there's a lovely chapel and regular card games, and it's a beautiful, affordable place I'd recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment in the reviews of St. Anne's Living Center is strongly positive, with multiple comments emphasizing a warm, home-like environment and attentive, respectful care. Reviewers repeatedly describe the facility as comfortable and beautiful, and remark that residents seem happy. The presence of caring Sisters and a clearly identified Christ-centered community is a recurring theme, and reviewers note that the atmosphere feels warmhearted and faith-oriented. Several comments specifically highlight a guest-focused approach to service, which reinforces the impression of personal, resident-centered care.

Care quality and staff interactions are described in uniformly respectful terms. Phrases such as respectful staff, respectful care, and caring Sisters indicate that reviewers perceive staff as treating residents with dignity and compassion. The language used points to a culture of attentiveness and kindness rather than clinical detachment. The guest-focused service remark suggests administration and caregivers prioritize resident comfort and preferences, contributing to the home-like feel reviewers repeatedly mention.

Facilities receive mixed-but-positive commentary. The property is called beautiful and very clean, and reviewers note newer modifications or updates have been made. At the same time, the single consistent concern is that the building itself is older; reviewers acknowledge updates but still identify the facility as an older structure. The availability of an on-site chapel is highlighted as an important amenity that supports the faith-based identity of the community and likely contributes to residents’ spiritual life and sense of belonging.

Dining and value are specific strengths in the reviews. Multiple summaries call out excellent food, and reviewers also describe pricing as good or affordable. Those two points together suggest that dining quality and cost are important, positively perceived aspects of St. Anne’s offering. The combination of good food and reasonable pricing reinforces the overall impression of a caring, value-oriented community.

Activities are mentioned more sparingly but positively; a card-playing activity is explicitly noted, indicating that there are at least some social/recreational options that foster resident interaction. While reviews do not provide an extensive activities list, the cited card-playing and the warm community tone imply social opportunities exist and are enjoyed by residents.

Taken together, the reviews paint a picture of a well-maintained, faith-centered senior living community where residents feel at home, cared for, and valued. The most notable strengths are respectful, caring staff (including Sisters), a warm, Christ-centered culture, cleanliness, good food, and perceived value for money. The principal area to monitor or clarify for prospective residents is the age of the physical building: reviewers point out it is an older facility, albeit one that has received newer modifications. Prospective families interested in St. Anne’s should weigh the strong community, spiritual, and care-related positives against the reality of an older building footprint when making a decision.

    About St. Anne's Living Center

St. Anne's Living Center, known in the area as St. Anne's Guest Home, has served seniors and vulnerable adults in Grand Forks, North Dakota, since the mid-1940s and has been at its current spot at 524 N 17th St since 1981. The facility, inspired by the teachings of St. Francis, provides a safe and caring home to adults aged 18 and older through its two units: the St. Anne's Guest Home for basic care and St. Anne's Housing for the Elderly, which gives low-rent, subsidized apartments in the North Wing. The Guest Home, located in the South Wing, has 54 private rooms available for those who need some support, like help with personal care, medication supervision, and nursing services, and in the North Wing, there are 30 low-rent efficiency apartments designed for elderly or disabled residents who want more independence but still need a bit of help every now and then. The staff, which includes an administrator, a director of nursing, dietary supervisors, an accountant, activity leaders, and maintenance personnel, works around the clock providing care, cleaning, home-cooked meals, transportation, and activities like music, exercise, bingo, movies, crafts, social gatherings, and Bible studies, so residents have ways to stay busy and feel connected. St. Anne's Living Center sticks to Catholic values, following the "Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services," and everyone gets treated with love and dignity, whether they're there for assisted living, independent living, or need specialized memory care for Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia. The place feels family-like with a warm chapel open to both Catholic and Protestant services, a barber and beauty shop, laundry and housekeeping help, and a trust account if a resident needs help managing their spending money. There's always a friendly face around, from maintenance folks keeping everything running, to kitchen and dining staff making healthy food, to the activity crew running games and group outings, and everyone aims to give each resident care that matches their needs and hopes. People who stay here often mention how cheerful and helpful the staff are and how the activities and simple comforts, like the library or just a shared meal, help them feel at home. There are no active volunteer options right now, but the team remains focused on serving, making sure the environment is safe, friendly, and ready to meet physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs with as much compassion as possible.
