    Summary of reviews

Reviews for Andover Village Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation are strongly mixed. Several reviewers describe positive clinical experiences—particularly in the rehabilitation program—and single out individual aides and nurses for compassionate, family-like care. At the same time, a substantial number of comments point to operational problems that appear to affect consistency of care.

Care quality and direct-care staff performance vary across reports. The rehabilitation department receives favorable mention for therapy services. Individual caregivers are frequently described as compassionate and attentive, but reviewers also describe slow response times to call bells and requests, inconsistent implementation of care plans, and lapses in timely assistance such as toileting and repositioning. There are specific concerns about pressure-injury management and uneven clinical oversight that suggest variability in nursing practice and follow-through.

Dining impressions are mixed. Some reviewers praise the food and find meal quality acceptable, while others cite late or missed meals and long waits for service. Information about activities is limited in the available summaries, so it is difficult to draw conclusions about the facility’s programming or engagement offerings.

Facilities-related comments highlight inconsistencies in housekeeping and environmental maintenance. Several reviewers raised sanitation and cleanliness issues in rooms and shared areas, as well as pest-control concerns in resident rooms. Conversely, some families reported feeling that the environment was safe and well-maintained, underscoring the variability across units or shifts.

Management and organizational issues are a recurring theme. Reviews indicate vacancies in leadership roles, perceived micromanagement from regional or corporate leadership, and communication challenges with administration. Families also expressed concerns about privacy/HIPAA practices and an organizational emphasis on operational or financial priorities rather than individualized care. These management-level patterns are described as contributing to low staff morale and uneven care delivery.

Notable patterns: praise for therapy services and certain staff members exists alongside repeated operational criticisms—principally staffing shortages, slow responsiveness, care-plan inconsistencies, environmental maintenance gaps, and leadership instability. Prospective residents and families should consider touring the facility, asking for current staffing ratios, inquiring about pressure-injury and incontinence protocols, reviewing call-response metrics, clarifying visitation policies, and requesting examples of how management addresses complaints. These targeted questions can help weigh the facility’s strengths in rehabilitation and individual caregivers against the operational challenges described by reviewers.
