    Loving active community excellent care

I lived here eight years in a roomy two-room apartment with a kitchen and enjoyed tasty, social dinners and a nonstop calendar of activities (concerts, Bingo, exercise, movies, church, outings) for all ability levels. The staff are loving, long-tenured and professional - excellent nursing, meds management, rehab and fast admissions - with prompt maintenance and active volunteers; they supported us through COVID and my peaceful passing surrounded by family. A caring, safe, well-run community that I highly recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment in the reviews is strongly positive: reviewers repeatedly highlight excellent care, compassionate staff, abundant activities, and a welcoming, faith-oriented atmosphere. Multiple families and residents describe long, happy stays (one reviewer cited eight years), and many emphasize that Worthington Christian Village (WCV) felt like a blessing to the family. The facility receives consistent praise for its nursing care, medication administration, and clinical responsiveness — examples include fast emergency responses, professional nurses, effective physical therapy, and successful recoveries. Reviewers also credit the staff for being loving, incredibly helpful, and attentive during sensitive periods such as transitions from independent to assisted living and end-of-life moments.

Staff and clinical services are a clear strength. Long‑tenured employees, friendly office personnel, and caring caregivers are mentioned repeatedly. Reviewers note an elevated level of trust and comfort with caregivers, prompt attention from maintenance, and an efficient admissions process. Several accounts describe exceptional nursing and day‑to‑day care, with families grateful for the clinical oversight and the ability to administer medications reliably. Physical therapy and rehabilitation services are singled out as “tremendous,” and reviewers indicate that residents often experienced full recoveries and timely, competent treatment.

Social life and programming are another major theme: WCV offers a wide array of activities spanning low- to higher-activity levels, so residents can participate as much or as little as they like. Specific programs cited include bingo, concerts, movies, exercise classes, cards, church services, and organized outings and trips. Social dining — regular shared dinners — and plentiful volunteer engagement help create opportunities for community and connection. Reviewers commonly describe the community as safe, friendly, and as busy as residents want it to be, contributing to many “happy years” and fond memories.

Facilities, grounds, and dining draw mostly favorable comments but include nuanced feedback. The grounds are described as beautiful and the building as well‑maintained; many reviewers praise the food as tasty and healthy. However, several reviews also note that parts of the campus feel older: furniture and decor in some apartments and common areas are dated, some apartments are smaller, and reviewers mention upkeep or modernization concerns. These observations are balanced against comments that the facility offers good value compared with some newer, more expensive communities. A number of reviewers pointed out that pricing is relatively competitive, though a few noted that to match pricing and amenities of newer facilities you may need to upgrade to a suite, and that overall monthly fees can be higher than at other options.

Policy and practical considerations that prospective residents should note include a pet restriction and the tradeoff between cost and modern finishes. The Christian-like atmosphere and faith-based programming are repeatedly called out as positives for those seeking that environment, but the community may not be as modern or up-to-date as newer competitors. Still, the overall pattern across reviews is that the quality of care, the warmth and responsiveness of staff, and the richness of activities make WCV highly recommended by residents and families. In short, Worthington Christian Village is consistently praised for compassionate, professional care and a strong sense of community; prospective residents should weigh those strengths against the desire for newer finishes, larger or more modern apartment layouts, and specific pricing comparisons with other regional facilities.
