    Compassionate care and beautiful community

I'm very pleased with this community. The staff are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive - move-in was smooth and memory-care was compassionate. The facility and grounds are beautiful and well-maintained, apartments are spacious with lots of storage, and there are excellent amenities, activities, outings, and transportation. Food and management communication were great; I'd highly recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression Dublin Retirement Village presents as an upscale, amenity-rich campus set in a wooded, nature-preserve environment. Many reviewers praised the community’s grounds, campus amenities (exercise room, gardens, bistro), and resort-like atmosphere. The facility frequently receives positive comments for move-in coordination, on-site therapy, scheduled transportation and outings, pet-friendly policies, and an active calendar of programs that includes field trips, lectures, and fitness options.

Care and staff Care quality and staff interactions are a central strength in the reviews. Numerous families describe attentive, personable caregiving and nursing staff who provide individualized attention, remember residents’ names, and offer compassionate support. Several accounts note strong clinical leadership (nursing director, nurse practitioner) and responsiveness to care needs, with timely maintenance and efficient caregiver support during transitions. At the same time, reviewers also describe operational staffing variability — floor staff can be difficult to locate at times and there are references to periodic staffing challenges that affect on-the-floor availability.

Dining and nutrition Dining receives mixed feedback. Many residents and guests praise the food — fresh items, bakery offerings, and a new bistro are highlighted — and some families describe excellent meals and a welcoming dining environment. Conversely, other reviewers describe inconsistent meal quality, overcooked or unappealing presentation, limited snack options, and discrepancies between what is shown on tours and what is served day-to-day. These divergent accounts suggest variability in meal execution and portioning that prospective residents should confirm during visits and follow-up meals.

Activities and engagement Activity programming is generally a positive feature: an active schedule, transportation to local sites, outings, arts and crafts, and exercise classes are commonly cited as contributing to resident engagement. That said, some reviewers experienced a mismatch between promotional materials and daily offerings — promised activities were sometimes absent or less substantive than expected. Overall, the calendar is robust, but actual participation and program depth may vary by unit and day.

Facilities and unit conditions The community’s exterior, grounds, and many renovated interiors draw favorable comments. However, unit conditions are uneven across the campus: some apartments are recently remodeled and well-appointed, while others appear dated and in need of updates. Reviewers also raised concerns about upgrade costs and unequal availability of paid upgrades; prospective residents should confirm unit condition, included finishes, and any upgrade fees in writing.

Management, operations, and notable concerns Management and administrative staff receive both praise and criticism. Several families described positive, accommodating interactions with administrators, an excellent move-in coordinator, and prompt resolution of issues. Conversely, there are recurring concerns about inconsistent management follow-through, gaps in communication, and perceived lack of accountability in some instances. A limited number of reviewers raised serious concerns about clinical-protocol adherence and safety practices; those concerns were escalated externally in some cases. Additionally, reviewers cite perceived issues with medication-management practices that warrant direct clarification when evaluating the community.

Bottom line and recommendations for prospective residents Dublin Retirement Village is characterized by strong hospitality, an active program of amenities and outings, and many staff who deliver personalized care. Areas to scrutinize during a visit include current unit condition and which upgrades are included versus fee-based, consistent observation of meal service (ask to sample lunch), floor-staff availability at different times of day, medication-management protocols, and management’s documented procedures for incident reporting and family communication. Clarifying these operational details in writing will help align expectations with the community’s strengths and observed variability.

    About Dublin Retirement Village

Dublin Retirement Village sits at 6470 Post Road in Dublin, Ohio, right next to the Red Trabue Nature Preserve, and it's the sort of place where older adults have different care options under one roof like independent living, assisted living, memory support, and nursing care, all in a community that's been accredited by CARF International since 2016. Residents pick from spacious apartments-like studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom floor plans named Aster, Bluebell, Daisy, Forsythia, Heather, Primrose, Zinnia, Jasmine, and Larkspur-with big bathrooms, accessible showers, generous closet space, large windows, high ceilings, and kitchenettes, and some even overlook the 35-acre nature reserve. The apartments have hookups for washer and dryer, patios or balconies, air conditioning, and controlled access for safety, and people with pets can bring them too.

When it comes to getting around, there's on-site parking and easy wheelchair access, and the staff treats residents with respect, offering care that covers daily tasks like bathing, getting dressed, eating right, taking medicine, going to doctor visits, and dealing with chronic illnesses, with nurses and helpers on duty at all hours, plus weekly housekeeping and laundry. The dining options are chef-led and include restaurant-style meals that people can have anytime, and there's a cafe for snacks or getting together with friends. For activities, the place really fills the days with over 100 choices-like art in the studio, fitness classes in the gym, fishing in the pond, walking the garden paths, visiting the chapel, taking part in lifelong learning or creative programs, even boxing through the Rock Steady program for those who want to keep moving, plus movie nights, wellness classes, cooking classes, and dementia-specialized programs involving sensory rooms, memory software, and therapy pets. The memory support community uses Destination Stations®, Snoezelen® Multi-Sensory Environments, MUSIC&MEMORY™, and the Lucynt Magic Table to help folks stay engaged, and there's a dedicated backyard for safe wandering.

Residents who need more support get custom care plans, medication reminders, and chronic disease support, with hands-on help from nurses and trained caregivers day and night, and emergency response systems like bracelets for safety. There are weekly doctor visits, a pharmacy and therapies on site, and links with podiatry, psychiatry, neurology, dietitians, plus hospice, home health, and private duty caregivers if needed. Housekeeping, laundry, concierge, and valet services are part of the package, as are utilities like cable, internet, and transportation, and residents have the choice of joining community news, support groups, and enrichment programs at the Enrichment Center. Residents can also find spiritual help in the on-site chapel or take part in community programs designed to help everyone stay active and involved. The sister community, Twin Towers Place in Lamb Corners, has extra features like full kitchens, laundry rooms, balconies, and controlled entries.

Families can keep in touch easily, and the grounds-thirteen acres all landscaped and connected to a big nature preserve-give everybody room to walk, garden, or just sit outside while feeling part of a safe and friendly neighborhood. The staff, backed by National Church Residences and Senior Star, takes the time with each resident, focusing on dignity and personal attention, and when folks need help with dementia, advanced training and a specialty community deliver 24-hour care with therapy, housekeeping, and structured activities. There's also respite care for short-term stays, and the place stays lively with wellness programs, signature activities, and a focus on making life as enjoyable, independent, and safe as possible. If you want to look closer, you can see photos online, download a brochure, or even take a virtual tour on their website.
