    Friendly staff, clean, family oriented

My loved one Edward Frey has lived here about four years and I'm very pleased. Staff are consistently friendly, attentive, and go above and beyond - excellent nursing, CTNAs, therapy and activities; the building is clean, warm, and very family-oriented. I highly recommend this community overall; a few small issues keep it from being perfect.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews for Park View Care Center are polarized, with a sizable portion of commenters praising direct-care staff, therapy services, and the activities program while others raise significant operational and safety concerns. Positive commentary centers on the facilityโ€™s interpersonal environment and programming: reviewers commonly describe friendly, welcoming staff, a familyโ€‘oriented or homelike atmosphere, an active activities department, and a therapy team that supports rehabilitation goals. Several accounts highlight longโ€‘tenured caregivers, teamwork, and staff who spend time with residents and families.

Care quality perceptions vary by shift and unit. Many families report attentive nursing and consistent handsโ€‘on caregiving from CNAs and CTNAs, noting that staff often go above and beyond and maintain good communication with families. Conversely, other reviewers describe delayed responses to call lights, limited assistance when needed, and supervision lapses that have been associated with resident falls or injuries. There are also repeated remarks about concerning staff conduct and tone in certain areas of the facility, which suggests uneven behavior standards and supervisory enforcement.

Dining and activities receive generally favorable comments: reviewers indicate residents enjoy meals and that the activities department regularly plans creative programs. The therapy and rehabilitation team is frequently identified as a strength, and the facility is described by many as clean, welcoming, and well maintained. Public events and a positive communal atmosphere are cited as contributors to resident quality of life.

Management and organizational issues are a recurring theme among negative reviews. Criticisms include perceived instability in leadership, frequent name or ownership changes, subcontracting arrangements, and weak followโ€‘through on complaints. Several reviewers expressed concern that administrative priorities favor financial considerations over clinical oversight. There are also mentions of reputation challenges โ€” including lawsuits and claims about falsified reviews โ€” that merit further verification.

Taken together, the pattern indicates a facility with clear strengths in direct caregiving, activities, and therapy, but with notable variability in responsiveness, supervision, and leadership oversight. Prospective residents and families should consider an inโ€‘person tour and ask specific operational questions: recent state inspection and deficiency history, staffing levels and turnover by shift, fallโ€‘prevention protocols, incident reporting and familyโ€‘notification procedures, and how the facility handles complaints and staff conduct issues. Reviewing the latest survey reports and speaking with current resident families can help clarify whether the strengths or the operational concerns are most representative of current conditions.

    About Park View Care Center

Park View Nursing Center, found at 328 W Vine St in Edgerton, Ohio, is a nursing home that has 74 certified beds and usually serves about 58 residents daily, so it's not too crowded but not empty either, and you'll see attentive, friendly, and helpful staff moving about, making sure folks are safe, clean, and have what they need, whether it's help getting around, medicine, or just some kindness to brighten the day. The staff includes nurses, aides, and licensed therapists for physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and someone's always on site, 24/7, to help with whatever comes up, like medicine management, pain management, diabetes care, wound care, or even stroke rehabilitation. The center does skilled nursing for both short-term and long-term care, including hospice, post-operative care, and respite stays, and there's a secure behavioral health unit for seniors who have mental health needs, offering things such as life skills groups, therapy, and behavioral management through the Lotus Behavioral Health community. Staff communicate well, listen to residents and families, and do their best to follow doctor's orders and residents' rights, sometimes investigating health concerns rather than looking the other way, which can be rare elsewhere. Meals are decent, planned by chefs and meal planners, and there are options to suit different dietary needs, plus they offer enteral nutrition, IV therapy, and feeding tubes when needed, and the kitchen's always aiming for nutritious stuff over fancy food. The place is clean and quiet, with amenities like regular housekeeping, linen services, pest control, and both private and semi-private rooms, aiming to make it feel home-like, especially for folks who can't return to their own home. Residents get to enjoy activities that are run by the community itself, bringing people together socially, physically, and mentally, with programs meant to build good relationships and give a sense of belonging, something that matters a lot. Park View Nursing Center accepts private insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid, so most people can find a way to fit it into their plans, and it's part of Medical Rehabilitation Centers, LLC and affiliated with Lexington Health Management. Reports show a nurse turnover rate at about 39.3%, and each resident gets around 3.43 nurse hours per day, which is pretty standard, but it's also good to know that the facility has had some health and environmental deficiencies in the past, including infection issues, though they do work to fix problems as they come up. Housekeeping, linen help, and pest control are all part of keeping things running smoothly, and when needs change, residents can move through different levels of care without leaving the community. The center specializes in skilled nursing and rehabilitation, but also does cancer care, cardiac care, CHF program, and addresses a range of health needs with personalized care plans so folks can keep as much independence as possible, which is something a lot of families want for their loved ones. The whole place aims to give each person dignity, solid attention, and a community feel, and offers access to advice from local senior living advisors as needed. Park View has earned some community awards like Best of Senior Living and All-Star Awards, and while no place is perfect, there's effort made here to balance good care, comfort, and communication in a setting that feels like home but with the medical backup seniors might need.
