    Clean, caring staff and activities

I'm so glad we chose Oakley Place for my mom - the place is very clean and truly feels like home. The staff are kind, professional, and go the extra mile; they tailor meals to her tastes, manage meds well, and gave huge emotional and care support during her transition and hospice. There are lots of activities (bingo, music, outings), a lovely courtyard, and real peace of mind knowing she's in capable, caring hands. I'd definitely recommend Oakley Place.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Oakley Place presents as a small, home-like assisted living community with numerous strengths in person-centered caregiving and social engagement. Many families and residents emphasized the facilitys warm atmosphere, consistent housekeeping, pleasant grounds and a staff culture that prioritizes individualized attention. The communitys size is an asset for intimacy: staff frequently know residents by name, create personalized meal choices, and support residents preferences in daily routines.

Care and staff: Care quality is generally described as compassionate and attentive, with aides, RCPs and nurses cited for patience, responsiveness and individualized attention. Reviewers highlighted dementia-friendly approaches, proactive training efforts, and instances of staff going beyond basic duties to support residents and families. However, staffing consistency is a recurring operational weakness: families noted occasional short staffing and delays in assistance. Relatedly, there are facility-level gaps in incident response and family notification that prospective families should evaluate (for example, fall-prevention protocols and timely communication when clinical events occur). There are also specific concerns about medication-management practices that warrant direct inquiry during any tour or care-planning discussion.

Dining and activities: The community offers a varied activity program — baking, music, painting, outings, bingo and therapy-oriented groups — that supports socialization and resident engagement. Activities staff are generally seen as creative and encouraging, and residents report making friends and feeling involved. Dining experiences were mixed in the feedback: several reviewers praised tailored meals and accommodating chefs, while others described inconsistent food quality or limited menu appeal. Prospective residents should ask about current menu rotation, dietary accommodations and meal-service continuity.

Facilities and services: Oakley Place is frequently described as clean, well-maintained and non-institutional, with an attractive courtyard, wide hallways and accessible one-level areas. Housekeeping and grounds maintenance receive positive mentions, and on-site services like a salon and physical therapy are available. A few reviewers noted that some bedrooms are older and smaller than others; families should confirm room size and condition when comparing units.

Management and patterns: Leadership and administrative responsiveness receive mixed commentary. Several reviewers praised proactive managers and training directors who support families and staff; others described inconsistent management professionalism, billing or insurance invoicing delays, and concerns about value following rate increases. There are also recurring notes that Oakley Place is not configured to meet higher-acuity skilled-nursing needs, so it may be less suitable for individuals expected to require complex medical or continuous skilled care.

Recommendation for prospective families: Oakley Place appears to deliver strong person-centered assisted living for residents who benefit from a small, social environment with personalized attention and active programming. When considering placement, prospective families should assess current staffing levels and float coverage, review fall-prevention and incident-notification protocols, ask detailed questions about medication administration and clinical oversight, sample the dining program, and inspect bedroom options. These targeted inquiries will help determine fit for an individuals care needs and expectations.

About Trustwell Living at Oakley Place

Trustwell Living at Oakley Place offers a comfortable home for seniors who want different levels of support, so you'll find assisted living, memory care for people with dementia or Alzheimer's, independent living for seniors who want their own space and freedom, plus respite care for short stays, and you'll see that every apartment comes with a kitchenette for those who like to cook their own meals from time to time, and the apartments are modern with nice finishes and safety features like emergency call systems that work at all hours. There's always a registered nurse around who keeps an eye on everyone and helps manage care when someone needs a bit more help, and staff use individual care plans that can adjust to changing needs, offering help with bathing, dressing, or medicine to those who ask for it. Seniors at Oakley Place enjoy the community feel, thanks to bright common rooms, a welcoming reception area, porches and patios for sitting outside, and spaces like the game room, creative studio for crafts, and a full-service salon where folks like to spend time. Each day brings choices in activities, with live music, movies, tai chi, exercise classes, cooking lessons, parties, bingo, card games, church services, arts and crafts, and more, as well as trips off-site for things like shopping, bowling, going to the zoo, eating out, or seeing a movie, and regular ice cream socials seem to get everyone talking and laughing. The dining room serves restaurant-style meals made from quality ingredients, and if someone's got a special diet, they'll work with the kitchen to make sure it's right. Pets are welcome at Oakley Place, and the community also offers transportation for medical appointments or outings around town, so no one's stuck at home if they want to be out and about, and you'll find the schedule of activities is pretty full with both planned and spontaneous events. Housekeeping and laundry get done every week, and the staff keeps areas clean, so residents don't have to worry about chores unless they want to, and with access to Wi-Fi and disability-friendly spaces, families can visit and stay connected easily. The community is known for being friendly and supportive, and families say the staff go out of their way to make people feel safe and included. This continuing care retirement community means someone can move in when they're independent and get more help over time without having to leave the place they've come to know. Oakley Place has spaces for gatherings, both big and small, and people often spend time outdoors with friends or visiting family, which helps everyone feel at home.
