    Caring staff, outstanding rehab, recommended

I was very satisfied with my family member's care - the staff were caring and responsive, nursing and social services helpful, and the rehab/physical therapy was outstanding. Rooms were clean and comfortable, meals were good with alternatives, and hospice coordination on short notice was handled smoothly. Family involvement was welcomed during meals; overall a very positive experience and I would recommend this facility.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews present a mixed picture of care at this facility. Many families highlight caring, attentive nurses and aides, good communication with clinical staff, and instances of high-quality personalized attention—particularly around rehabilitation services and end-of-life care. Kitchen staff and some unit teams are described as warm and accommodating, and portions of the building are noted to be clean and welcoming.

At the same time, a number of operational weaknesses recur. Staffing levels are described as inconsistent, producing delays in responding to call bells and resident requests. Several accounts indicate inconsistent personal-care schedules (including bathing and feeding assistance) and concerns about medication management practices, which families perceived as contributing to changes in resident behavior or level of alertness. There are also specific concerns about catheter-related care and device oversight.

Facility and environmental issues are another theme. Reviewers cite unreliable maintenance (peeling wallpaper, damaged personal items, and broken room amenities), sanitation and odor-control shortcomings in some common areas, and pest-control and exterior trash-management gaps around entrances and outdoor spaces. Equipment-management gaps were reported, such as therapeutic devices left unplugged. Room size limitations and frequent room relocations were noted as sources of disruption to residents.

Dining quality is inconsistent across reports: some families praise attentive kitchen staff, while others describe limited variety, temperature problems, and overall poor meal quality. Staff conduct and professionalism also show variability—while many staff are described as kind and helpful, others relay concerns about tone, communication style, and bedside manner that affect resident dignity.

Management and oversight appear to be uneven; comments suggest that investment in building upkeep and janitorial services would improve the environment, and that clearer protocols for staffing, medication review, and infection-control practices are needed. Notable patterns are polarization of experiences—some families report very good, compassionate care and a supportive atmosphere, while others describe systemic operational shortcomings that impacted resident comfort and safety.

For prospective families: consider an in-person visit during mealtime and shift change, ask about current staffing ratios and recent staffing turnover, review medication-management and infection-control protocols, inspect resident rooms for maintenance and privacy safeguards, inquire about catheter-care procedures and feeding-assistance policies, and request recent state inspection reports or quality metrics. These checks can help clarify whether the facility’s strengths align with a prospective resident’s needs and expectations.
