    Beautiful facility with compassionate staff

I'm very pleased with this beautiful, spotless facility-stunning gardens and chapel, pleasant rooms and lovely views. The staff are compassionate and attentive; Kristy, Activities Director Rosanne and Nurse Barb went above and beyond and Pam at the front desk was kind. My mom is thriving with delicious meals, engaging activities (bingo, Mass, family events) and excellent rehab-I'd recommend this caring, well-run place.

    Summary of reviews

Across the reviews the Gardens of St. Francis is consistently described as an attractive, well-kept campus with clean interiors, nicely maintained grounds and bright common areas. Many families praised the physical environment — tidy rooms, pleasant landscaping and an on-site chapel — and emphasized that the setting contributes to a calm, home-like atmosphere for residents.

Care and staffing drew mixed but frequently positive commentary. Numerous reviewers highlighted compassionate, attentive nursing and caregiving staff who provide personalized attention and frequent check-ins; several named staff members and therapy teams received direct praise for helping residents reach rehabilitation goals. Rehabilitation and therapy services are repeatedly characterized as strong, with multiple accounts of residents making measurable progress and families indicating they would return for short-term therapy.

Dining, activities and community life are commonly cited strengths. Reviewers described engaging programming, an active activities director, and meaningful special events such as concerts and family luncheons. Kitchen staff are noted for offering alternatives and accommodating preferences, and many families reported that residents enjoy meals, bingo, religious services and gardening or outdoor visits.

Concurrently, a set of operational concerns appears in the feedback and warrants attention. Several reviewers described limited or tightly enforced visitation rules, including constrained hours and challenges with after-hours access; these policies have been a source of family frustration, particularly around end-of-life visits. Staffing shortages and variable staff availability were also reported; reviewers linked these shortages to delays in responsiveness and uneven consistency of care. Related operational weaknesses noted include inconsistencies in medication administration and dietary adherence, and occasional delays or gaps in communication with families after clinical incidents.

A small number of comments raise more serious governance and billing concerns: perceptions of uneven management decision‑making, frustrations with policy enforcement, and questions about pricing and charges. There are also allegations concerning the handling and investigation of critical events; these descriptions suggest that prospective families should inquire about the facility's incident-response and family-notification protocols.

Overall, the Gardens of St. Francis is presented as a high-quality physical environment with many dedicated caregivers and strong therapy and activity offerings. Prospective residents and families should weigh those strengths against the documented operational issues — particularly visitation flexibility, staffing consistency, medication and dietary processes, incident-response procedures, and cost transparency — and consider targeted questions during a tour to evaluate how the facility currently addresses those areas.

The Gardens of St. Francis is a retirement community that provides independent living, assisted living, nursing care, memory care, respite care, and rehabilitation services, so people who need a little help or a lot more care can find what they need here, and you'll notice that the place feels peaceful because the grounds are landscaped with gardens and quiet spaces for sitting or spending time outside, and those gardens make it inviting for both residents and visitors looking for a calm spot. The staff works to meet each resident's needs by focusing on physical health, emotional support, and keeping people socially active, so there are wellness programs, group trips, social activities, and educational opportunities, and the place has a busy activity calendar to help people stay connected and engaged rather than isolated, which makes a difference for quality of life. People living here can use different spaces like a computer lab, craft room, library, beauty and barber shop, gift shop, and a general store, and there are activity rooms, spacious common areas, and even a dedicated My Care login system for residents and families to stay in touch about care plans.
