The campus is non-smoking, and utilities except phone and cable are included in rent, with a $200 security deposit before move in, and cable TV available for an extra charge. Eligibility requires income at or below 60 percent of the area's median family income, and special financing arrangements help keep the apartments affordable. Luther Woods is a faith-based, non-profit facility rooted in Lutheran and community support, but folks of any faith are welcome, and a service coordinator helps residents with finding services like meals, home health care, or housekeeping. The site offers independent living for active adults, assisted living, memory care, Alzheimer's care, home care services, rehabilitation, companion care, and skilled nursing care for seniors who need more support. The community handles exterior maintenance like lawn work, snow shoveling, and trash, as well as interior maintenance such as electrical, heating, plumbing, and air conditioning, at no extra cost, which makes daily living a little easier.
