    Immaculate facility with caring staff

I'm very pleased with Paisley House - an immaculate, well-maintained place with genuinely caring, friendly staff who keep me informed and promptly coordinate doctor care. Rent covers great services (laundry, weekly bedding, hair washing/styling), the dining area is warm though modest, and overall it's a wonderful, better-value option than my previous community.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment: The reviews describe Paisley House very positively, with a strong and consistent emphasis on high-quality, attentive care and excellent value. Reviewers repeatedly highlight the staff's kindness, helpfulness, and dedication; several explicitly call the care 'exceptional' and note staff go above and beyond. There is a clear pattern of satisfaction: the facility is described as immaculate and well maintained, residents and families report being well informed about medical issues, and multiple reviewers state they have no complaints and give top ratings.

Care quality and staff: The dominant theme across the reviews is the quality of caregiving. Reviewers emphasize genuine, person-centered care for basic needs and hygiene. Staff are repeatedly described as caring, considerate, and proactive — keeping families updated and quickly alerting them about doctor-care issues. Comments about staff 'going above and beyond' and being 'friendly and informative' indicate both competence and emotional support. These consistent endorsements suggest a staff culture focused on resident wellbeing and strong communication with families.

Included services and perceived value: A major positive highlighted in multiple reviews is the scope of services included in the rent at no extra cost. Specific inclusions cited are clothes washing, ironing, folding, weekly bedding changes, and weekly hair washing and styling. Reviewers compare Paisley House favorably to more expensive facilities that provided less hands-on service, noting Paisley House as a better value. The clarity that rent covers these personal-care and housekeeping services contributes strongly to the facility's favorable value perception.

Facility condition and housekeeping: The building and common areas are frequently described as immaculate and well maintained, with reviewers noting the absence of odors and good housekeeping. Comments about considerate housekeeping and weekly bedding changes reinforce that cleanliness and environmental upkeep are reliable strengths of the community.

Dining and amenities: The dining area receives mixed but generally positive commentary. Reviewers call the dining space warm and inviting, which suggests good atmosphere and service quality. The main concern is physical size and scale: several comments note the dining area is not very large or as extensive as those at other communities. This is the primary recurring limitation mentioned in the summaries and may affect residents who prioritize larger dining venues or more extensive dining programs.

Communication and family engagement: Another consistent thread is effective communication — staff keep families informed, provide helpful updates, and alert family members quickly about medical care needs. This responsiveness appears to be a significant factor in family satisfaction and trust in the facility.

Atmosphere and extras: Small but meaningful details — such as the presence of a dog on-site — are mentioned positively and contribute to a homelike, friendly atmosphere. Combined with descriptions of warm common spaces and helpful staff, these elements portray a community that feels personal and welcoming rather than institutional.

Patterns and notable points: Reviews are uniformly positive with limited criticism. The most frequently mentioned positives are exceptional caregiving, comprehensive included services (laundry, bedding, hair care), cleanliness, and strong staff communication. The only repeated critique is the smaller dining area compared with larger communities. Taken together, these summaries portray Paisley House as a clean, well-run, and compassionate senior living option that offers excellent hands-on services and strong staff engagement, with a minor limitation in dining space size.

    About Paisley House

Paisley House has been serving seniors since 1909 and sits along the Mahoning River in Youngstown, Ohio, where a sense of warmth and welcome can be felt throughout its well-maintained building. The place offers studio apartments and serves up to 24 residents with care from a staff of about 30 people, creating a family-like atmosphere that makes the community feel close. The facility stands as a non-profit and keeps costs affordable, with a board that works to keep rent steady and avoid yearly rises, so folks who don't qualify for the Medicaid waiver can find care that fits their needs and budgets thanks to generous community support and funds raised locally. Licensed by the state, Paisley House provides several types of care, including assisted living for those who need help with daily tasks like bathing and dressing, Alzheimer's care, independent living, and even specialized respite care for short stays. They accept both checks and credit card payments.

Residents can count on around-the-clock professional staff, including on-staff nurses, aides, and a house doctor who visits monthly, with healthcare support such as medication management, podiatry services, and a mental wellness program always available. The facility offers services like laundry, dry cleaning, housekeeping, maintenance, and regular transportation for appointments and outings. Meals are served in a communal dining room, where breakfast, lunch, and dinner bring people together, and meal services are all included. There's a salon and barbershop for haircuts right on the property, and a sunroom, fireplace, and library that give folks places to gather or quietly read. Residents can take up activities like arts and crafts, Nintendo Wii bowling, game nights, and exercise classes including chair yoga, and there's a resident musical group for entertainment and involvement.

Paisley House offers in-house religious services and makes sure residents have social opportunities, with trips to local spots like Mill Creek Park, local restaurants such as Noble Creature Cask House, and leisure activities even as far as Three Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. Folks can enjoy the outdoor garden, take part in movie nights, or settle into the peaceful public living areas. The setting helps residents maintain their dignity and independence, and people can feel safe with personalized care that ensures their health, safety, and protection in their later years. Paisley House accommodates both men and women aged 65 or older and supports those who are largely independent but may require help from time to time. Proximity to pharmacies like Qol Meds Pharmacy, cafés such as Saint E's Cafe, and medical facilities including St. Elizabeth Health Center means essential resources are close by. All pricing is all-inclusive, without extra fees for basic services, and communal spaces help foster companionship and a steady sense of belonging for those in their twilight years.
