    Caring peaceful family-like senior home

I moved my mom to Antonine Village and she's very happy - the Sisters and staff are genuinely caring, know residents by name, and the place feels clean, peaceful and safe. Her spacious apartment (private shower, small kitchen) feels like home and she enjoys the delicious meals, therapy room, on-site doctor and beautician plus daily rosaries, Mass and lots of activities (crafts, bingo, games, outings). Management is responsive and family-like; I highly recommend it, with just a few small things that could be improved.

    Summary of reviews

Antonine Village is described consistently as a clean, recently built, campus-style senior living community with a strong emphasis on personalized, faith-based care. The facility's management by the Antonine Sisters and the presence of an on-site chapel support a routine of daily rosaries and Mass; religious programming is prominent and appears integrated into both activities and the general culture. Families and residents commonly describe the environment as warm and home-like, with staff who know residents by name and provide attentive, compassionate caregiving.

Clinical supports and safety features are notable strengths. Reviewers highlight an on-site physician, an exercise/therapy room, and routine access to beauty and personal-care services. The memory-care unit is physically secured with FOB entry controls and is modestly sized (24 residents), which reviewers associate with enhanced safety and oversight but which could limit availability. Staff accessibility and management responsiveness receive regular positive comments; staff retention appears strong, which contributes to continuity of care and familiarity for residents.

The social and lifestyle program is active and varied. Daily and weekly programming includes crafts, bingo, games, live music, outings, birthday celebrations, and Bible studies. Dining is described as restaurant-style, with generally positive feedback about food quality and meal service; the community operates an all-inclusive billing model where rent covers most services. Physical accommodations are frequently cited as a positive: private, apartment-style units with kitchenettes and in-room showers, spacious common areas, a fenced outdoor courtyard and gazebo, and a peaceful country setting.

Potential constraints for prospective residents and families include cost and location. Some indicate higher private-pay rates compared with other local options, and the rural site may present challenges for family visits dependent on public transportation or proximity to urban amenities. The relatively small memory-care unit suggests limited capacity and possible wait times. Finally, the facility's pronounced religious identity is a central feature that aligns with many residents' preferences but may not suit those seeking a more secular environment. Overall, Antonine Village consistently receives favorable assessments for staff quality, cleanliness, programming, and a faith-focused, community-oriented living environment, with trade-offs primarily related to cost, location, and program fit for individual preferences.

    About Antonine Village

Antonine Village sits in a quiet, rural part of North Jackson, Ohio, and is owned and operated by the Antonine Sisters, members of the Maronite Catholic Church, who have offered holistic adult day care since 1991 and built this modern facility in 2014. The staff at Antonine Village take pride in providing care for seniors by offering assisted living, adult day care through Antonine Sisters Adult Daycare, memory care for people with Alzheimer's disease or other types of memory loss, and respite care services in a Christian, home-like setting. There are 73 licensed beds in assisted living units that are 415 or 360 square feet, each with a sleeping area and a private bath, and the facility includes three dining rooms where residents get three home-cooked meals a day plus snacks, with staff taking care of laundry, housekeeping, room and bed making, and dirt change services, so residents don't have to worry about those things.

Residents get 24-hour nursing care with medical and nursing services, a 24-hour call system, supervision, medication management through Accudose Pharmacy, insulin administration, and personal help with bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and mobility; there are also regular visits from medical practitioners, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and State-Tested Nursing Assistants (STNAs), with job openings for nurse's aides as well. Adult day care at Antonine Sisters Adult Daycare runs specialized programs to help with dignity, and memory care programming is tailored for individuals with serious memory loss, all working together to promote well-being and a supportive environment.

The property has a lot of amenities, with an onsite beautician for grooming, cable TV, Wi-Fi, and phone service available, along with beauty salon and barbershop or podiatry visits for an extra fee, plus transportation to appointments or shopping at an added cost, making daily life a little easier. Residents can join in community-sponsored and resident-run activities in the two activity rooms, join Bible Study and services in the chapel, or spend time in the music program, art sessions, spa and wellness facilities, library, game room, outdoor courtyards, and on walking paths. Therapy rooms and an onsite therapy center support physical and occupational therapies, and there's medical supervision around the clock for those who need it. Staff run recreational and social activities to bring people together, with outings, Bible Study, pastoral care, and spiritual services woven into daily life.

Everyday services promote independence, with help for anyone who needs more long-term care, and special support for seniors with memory loss, so everybody gets the care they need based on what suits them best. Antonine Village puts focus on the dignity of each resident, keeps the facility up to date, and stays committed to active living programs with compassionate care out in the peace and quiet, where people can feel safe, relaxed, and cared for no matter where they're at in life.
