    Warm, attentive staff and therapy

I felt welcomed and confident from day one - the staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely knew my father's preferences, providing compassionate nursing and excellent therapy that helped him regain strength. Communication, dining, activities, and the office team were professional and responsive; I'm very grateful and would recommend this facility.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews of Camp Hill Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center present a mixed picture. Many accounts highlight strong clinical rehabilitation services, attentive CNAs and nurses, and a clean, welcoming physical environment. Physical and occupational therapy programs are repeatedly described as effective and recovery-focused, and social work, dietetic, and some administrative staff are singled out for proactive coordination and helpfulness. Families frequently note positive short-term rehab outcomes and a home-like dining atmosphere.

At the same time, there are recurring operational concerns that families should weigh. Staffing levels appear inconsistent across shifts: daytime staff are commonly described as kind and effective, while evening and night shifts are more often linked to delays in responding to call bells, longer waits for assistance with toileting and hydration, and slower medication delivery. Several reviewers described delayed nurse response times and pain-management lapses, which contributed to transfers back to acute care in some cases. There are also comments about inconsistent provision of routine personal-care activities and missed meals during busy periods.

Infection-control and sanitation emerged as a notable pattern-level concern. Some reviewers described outbreaks and individual instances suggesting gaps in infection prevention practices and room-level cleanliness; pest-control concerns were also raised for particular rooms. Conversely, other reviewers praised the facilityโ€™s overall cleanliness and responsive maintenance, indicating variability between units and over time. Prospective families should inquire specifically about the facilityโ€™s current infection-control protocols and recent inspection history.

Dining and activities receive mixed feedback. The facilityโ€™s dining environment is often described as pleasant and home-like, and dietary staff have been praised for responsiveness; however, kitchen errors, inconsistent meal quality, and slow ancillary services such as laundry were also noted. The activities program is generally appreciated for engagement and therapeutic value, though schedule changes and last-minute cancellations have occurred and have frustrated families and residents.

Management and administrative processes show both strengths and weaknesses. The business office and some managers are credited for helpful, compassionate handling of billing and insurance questions and for effective vendor/maintenance responsiveness. At the same time, there are patterns of disorganized administrationโ€”delayed invoice submissions, billing inaccuracies, unclear transport/ambulance cost policies, and variable front-desk responsivenessโ€”which have led to disputes and frustration. A small number of serious claims (including allegations beyond typical service complaints) appear in the record; families concerned about those issues should inquire about any regulatory actions or investigations.

Overall, Camp Hill offers notable clinical and rehabilitative strengths with many staff members described as caring and effective, and the facility is capable of strong short-term rehab outcomes. However, persistent operational weaknessesโ€”especially inconsistent staffing across shifts, call-bell responsiveness, medication/treatment continuity, infection-control practices, and administrative consistencyโ€”create variability in the resident experience. Families considering this facility should ask detailed questions about current staffing patterns (including night coverage), infection-control measures, discharge planning and equipment provisioning, activity schedules, and billing/transport policies; visiting at different times of day can help gauge consistency of care across shifts.

There's also respite care for families who need a short-term break, and activities for social interaction. Administration is handled by Rashid Anjum, Randy Holtry, and Diane Morris, who oversee the facility. The facility has had several deficiencies in inspections, including 31 overall, with some related to nutrition, assistance with daily living, and infection control, but none caused actual harm, though some people were affected.
