    New ownership restored mom's vitality

I have peace of mind since new ownership-my mom is well taken care of, the staff are helpful and friendly, and the facility is spotless. The home-cooked meals are great (she's even gained weight) and music/social activities have brought her personality back; I would recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment across the reviews is mixed but leans toward concern, with a clear pattern of polarization: several reviewers praise direct care staff and certain aspects of daily life, while multiple others report significant problems with management, staffing, and basic services. The most consistent positive theme is the quality of care provided by individual aides and some line staff. Many reviewers explicitly name aides and certain staff members as compassionate, helpful, and friendly, and several accounts describe residents being well cared for, gaining weight, enjoying home-cooked meals, and benefiting from music and staff-led socialization. A few reviewers said the facility is very clean and that their family members’ personalities came out and received peace of mind. There are also isolated reports of notable improvement after a change in ownership, and some families would recommend the home based on their experience.

However, negatives are frequent and, in several cases, severe. The dominant critical themes are poor management and chronic staffing problems. Multiple reviews describe the facility as understaffed with overworked aides who are underpaid and treated disrespectfully by management. These staffing problems reportedly lead to poor resident care in some cases. Several reviewers explicitly call out poor management, uncaring owners, or a horrible work environment, and at least one notes a deceptive appearance—suggesting the facility may look acceptable at first glance but has deeper operational deficiencies. Reports of open beds or turnover also suggest instability or difficulty maintaining occupancy.

Dining and activities show a stark split in experiences. Some families praise the food—calling it home-cooked and crediting it with residents gaining weight—while others report very small portions, insufficient meals, no specialties for dietary needs, and even an absence of coffee. Activity offerings are similarly inconsistent: a number of reviews describe music and social interaction driven by staff that helped residents engage, but other reviewers report virtually no organized activities for residents. This suggests that program quality may depend heavily on which staff are on shift or on variable management practices.

Facility condition and safety also present mixed signals. While some reviewers call the home the cleanest facility they’ve seen, at least one reviewer reports an unsafe or degraded deck, indicating there may be specific maintenance and safety issues that need attention. Combined with the staffing and management complaints, these physical concerns amplify risk for residents if timely repairs and oversight are not in place.

A key pattern across the reviews is internal inconsistency: different families had very different experiences, sometimes even within similar time frames. Positive reports tend to focus on individual caregivers and recent improvements, whereas negative reports cluster around structural problems—owners and management, staffing levels and morale, and inadequate resident services. Because of this variability, potential residents and families should seek up-to-date, specific information: ask about current staffing ratios, turnover rates, management/ownership changes, recent inspection results, sample menus and portion sizes, and the schedule of activities. When visiting, speak directly with aides and multiple residents (if possible), observe mealtimes and activity periods, and inspect areas such as decks or outdoor spaces for safety.

In summary, Country Meadows Manor appears to offer strong, compassionate care from many direct-care staff, which leads to positive outcomes for some residents. At the same time, persistent and serious concerns about ownership/management, staffing shortages, staff treatment, inconsistent dining and activities, and isolated safety/maintenance issues create notable risk and dissatisfaction for other families. The decision-making implication is that outcomes are likely to depend heavily on current management and staffing conditions; prospective families should perform focused, current checks on the specific issues raised above before enrolling a loved one.
