    Exceptional short-term rehab and care

I'm incredibly pleased with the care my grandmother received - clean rooms and halls, welcoming and attentive nurses/CNAs, and an amazing, hardworking staff (Amy, Sandy, Megan, Denise, Annette, Brandon, Sharon, Jen and especially Delphie in Social Services). PT/OT were engaged and drove real rehab progress (walking, sit-to-stand, toileting); meals looked and smelled wonderful, activities and the helpful bus driver kept her active, and management/Kadima were responsive. I recommend this facility for short-term rehab and personal care - my grandma is happy, well-dressed, and well cared for.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews for Kadima at Campbelltown are highly mixed, with distinct positive themes around hands-on caregiving and rehabilitation contrasted against repeated operational concerns. Many families described caregivers โ€” nurses, CNAs, and therapists โ€” who were attentive, kind, and effective in short-term rehabilitation, enabling progress in mobility and activities of daily living. Social-services support and activities programming also received favorable comments, as did some aspects of meal presentation and transportation for outings.

At the same time, a number of reviews describe systemic issues that appear to affect consistency of care. Understaffing and slow response times to resident requests are recurring themes; these factors are linked in reviews to inconsistent bathing and incontinence-care practices and to delays in attending to toileting and hygiene needs. Several items also point to lapses in mobility and transfer safety, suggesting the need for stronger protocols and monitoring around transfers and wheelchair/device safety.

Dining and activities responses are mixed. While some reviewers praised meal presentation, nutrition efforts, and the activities calendar (including helpful drivers and engaging entertainment), others reported inconsistent meal temperature and quality. Therapy services are generally described as engaged and helpful for short-term rehab goals, but some reviewers indicated that therapy availability and effectiveness can be constrained by facility resources.

Facility environment and management are areas of notable concern for some families. Reviews reference sanitation and pest-control concerns in resident rooms and common areas, and there are complaints about room maintenance and housekeeping consistency. Multiple reviewers called out unreliable phone communication and inconsistent staff conduct at the front desk or on the floor. Administrative issues were also raised, including short-notice discharge/eviction practices and disputes over billing and incident resolution; there are serious individual allegations relating to administrative decisions and post-incident handling that potential families should consider when evaluating the facility.

Overall, the pattern suggests a facility where individualized caregivers can provide high-quality, compassionate care and rehabilitation, but where operational weaknesses โ€” particularly staffing, responsiveness, facility maintenance, and administrative consistency โ€” lead to highly variable family experiences. Prospective residents and families should verify current staffing levels, observe response times during a visit, ask for recent inspection reports and incident protocols, and discuss therapy capacity and administrative policies before making placement decisions.

    About Kadima at Campbelltown

Kadima at Campbelltown is a nursing home and part of the Kadima Healthcare Group, which has managed the place since August 2018 and runs several locations. The facility offers both skilled nursing and assisted living services, with 53 certified nursing beds and 24 personal care rooms for residents who may want a bit more independence. They provide services like scheduled transportation, respite or short-term stays, laundry services, and both semi-private and private rooms-so folks have some choice in how they live. Payment options include Medicaid, and the pricing is all-inclusive, which means most services roll into one set fee. They do have outdoor space with paved paths where residents can stroll, feed birds, or just sit on benches to enjoy fresh air, which feels nice for folks who like to be outside. The place is set up like a Continuing Care Retirement Community, so if a resident starts off more independent but then needs added care over time, they don't have to leave for another facility since they can move up to higher levels of care as needed.

Kadima at Campbelltown has comprehensive resources for long-term care, family caregiving, and information about long-term care insurance, which can help families plan ahead or figure out the system. The nursing care includes skilled nursing for people who require more medical help. The place has 23 units total and is licensed as both a Skilled Nursing Facility and a Personal Care Home, which is a Pennsylvania-specific license.

However, the facility does have some issues that make it important to look at the inspection reports closely. Kadima at Campbelltown has had 48 documented deficiencies, which include problems with pharmaceutical services, not employing enough trained staff for nutrition and dietary needs like a qualified dietitian, and not designating a qualified infection preventionist to oversee infection control. There are four separate deficiencies tied to infection control violations. Staffing levels are lower than average, with 2.35 nurse hours per resident per day, while the state average is 3.9. The nurse turnover rate is also higher than the state average, at 70.3% compared to 47%, which means more staff are leaving each year than at many other places.

The facility goes by other names too, like Kadima Rehabilitation and Nursing at Campbelltown, and is known for providing care under the Kadima Healthcare network. While the grounds and the care variety are nice, and the place is designed to accommodate many needs, the staffing and deficiency records are worth reviewing before making decisions.
