    Caring staff, clean facility, recommended

I'm very pleased with the caring, friendly staff and the warm, family-like atmosphere - they know residents, smile, and provide attentive 24-hour nursing, security, rehab and activities my mom enjoys. The facility is clean, modern and well-maintained with lovely grounds, good food, hair service and community holiday events like Angel Tree. Overall I recommend it - a great, improving place for short- or long-term care.

    Summary of reviews

Feedback about Rosemont Care & Rehabilitation Center is mixed, with clear strengths in frontline caregiving and activities alongside recurring operational concerns. Many accounts highlight compassionate, attentive nursing staff, an experienced recreation program, and individualized activities that residents enjoy. Families frequently praise 24-hour nursing and security, on-site salon services, pleasant grounds, and rehabilitation services described as strong. The facility's small size and long-tenured recreation staff contribute to a family-like atmosphere and regular, tailored social programming.

Clinical care impressions are variable. Positive comments emphasize consistent nursing teams and effective rehab for short-term recovery. However, there are recurring concerns about medication management, coordination of physician appointments, and gaps in therapy assessment and follow-through. Several reviewers described delays in responsiveness to resident needs and inconsistencies in personal-care assistance, which indicate variability in day-to-day clinical operations and resident monitoring.

Staff culture is portrayed in two contrasting ways. Many families describe friendly, warm, and caring caregivers who build strong relationships with residents. Conversely, reviewers also describe periods of staff shortages, high turnover, and examples of poor conduct or uncooperative behavior from specific employees. These personnel issues, combined with reported payroll irregularities and allegations of theft, suggest administrative and human-resources pressures that can affect morale and continuity of care.

Dining and activities receive generally positive comments for engagement and occasional above-average meals, library visits, outings, and holiday programs supported by volunteers. That said, meal quality is described as inconsistent and some families want more menu customization for individual preferences. Activities are a clear strength when staffing and leadership support remain stable.

Facility- and maintenance-related impressions are mixed. Several visitors appreciate modern areas, spacious rooms, and attractive outdoor spaces. Other comments note sanitation and maintenance concerns in parts of the building and occasional odor or cleanliness issues, implying uneven housekeeping and facility upkeep.

Management and operations appear to be a key dividing line in overall experience. Ownership changes, management turnover, and layoffs are cited as contributing to weakened communication, broken promises to families, difficulties with discharge paperwork, and perceived prioritization of revenue over clinical needs. These operational patterns are associated with the most serious family concerns about safety, administrative responsiveness, and continuity of care.

Overall recommendation: Prospective residents and families should weigh the facility's strengths in personalized activities, rehabilitation services, and attentive caregivers against documented operational weaknesses โ€” especially staffing consistency, management stability, and administrative communication. When considering Rosemont, ask for up-to-date staffing ratios, recent ownership or leadership changes, therapy assessment protocols, medication-administration safeguards, and examples of how the facility addresses maintenance and sanitation issues. Visiting at different times of day and speaking directly with the nursing supervisor and recreation director can help assess whether the positive elements are present and sustained.

About Rosemont Care & Rehabilitation Center

Rosemont Care & Rehabilitation Center sits on Rosemont Avenue in Bryn Mawr, PA, and has 76 certified beds. The facility offers both private suites and shared rooms, with air-conditioning, private bathrooms, and fully furnished living spaces. They provide meal preparation, housekeeping, linen services, and laundry facilities. Residents can use wifi, cable television, telephone service, and enjoy gardens and a beauty salon. Care includes 24-hour supervision, a call system, medication management, help with daily activities, and coordination with healthcare providers. There are transportation arrangements for things like doctor appointments, and the staff manage discharge planning, case management, and nutritional needs.

The facility has short-term rehab, long-term care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation services. There's physical, speech, occupational, and respiratory therapy, as well as palliative, hospice, and dementia care. Social activities are available, and the recreation director works to build relationships with residents. The staff includes nurses, rehab therapists, and key directors such as Yitzi Rosenstock as administrator, Connie Badeaux-Kirst as the director of nursing, and Lawanda Howard-Mason as the director of activities. The facility's director of social services is Howard Woodson, and there are dedicated leaders for therapy, human resources, business, medical records, dietary, and maintenance.

Rosemont's nurse turnover rate stands at 60.6%, above the state average of 47%, and available nurse hours per resident each day is 3.41, which is below the state average of 3.9. The facility has had 23 deficiencies on inspections, including infection-related citations for not meeting standards to protect residents from infections. It was also cited for not providing a complete care plan with clear goals and actions, and for not always notifying residents before transferring or discharging them, though this caused no actual harm but had potential for more than minimal harm. The facility is under the control of Barry Braunstein since May 2018 and is affiliated with Lme Family Holdings. Several complaint and inspection reports, including from October 11, 2024, document these issues. Food service quality is rated better than most nursing homes, and staff are screened for quality. Rosemont Care & Rehabilitation Center aims to support residents with a wide range of needs, but inspection history and staffing numbers are worth considering.
