    Highly qualified, caring rehab staff

I had short-term rehab here and was impressed - nurses, CNAs and therapists were highly qualified, caring and encouraging, and the outpatient therapy produced excellent outcomes. The staff and administrator were helpful and friendly, the facility was clean with no odor, and the atmosphere felt family-like; overall a very positive experience.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews reflect a mixed but actionable picture of clinical and operational performance at the facility. Many families praise the clinical side of care: nurses, CNAs, and therapists receive positive comments for skill and effectiveness, and short-term rehabilitation and outpatient services are frequently described as producing good functional outcomes. Caregivers are commonly characterized as friendly and encouraging, and several accounts highlight an engaged administrator and a family-like nursing culture.

On the environment and supportive services, reviewers note a generally clean, well-maintained facility and satisfactory meal quality. While explicit commentary on social programming and activities is limited in the available summaries, the rehabilitative focus and positive therapy outcomes suggest attention to active recovery and therapy-driven engagement for short-stay residents.

However, a number of operational concerns recur. Several reviewers describe capacity-related pressures and what they perceive as staffing strain; this is linked to reports of delays in bedside assistance and inconsistent attention to personal-care needs. Communication and admission coordination are reported as inconsistent — families mention difficulties getting timely updates, missed calls or texts, and variably helpful admissions staff. Those considering placement should anticipate the need for proactive family communication and clear expectations at intake.

More serious are concerns around medication management. There are allegations involving a missed or improperly documented dose of a high-risk medication and an associated state-level inquiry, along with disputes over electronic medication-pack handling. These items point to vulnerabilities in medication processes and documentation, and they underscore the importance of asking the facility for current medication-safety protocols, audit results, and any corrective actions taken. Prospective residents and families should weigh the documented strengths in therapy and daily caregiving against these operational and communication gaps, and consider targeted questions during tours and admissions to clarify staffing ratios, medication safeguards, and family-update practices.

About Williston Healthcare & Rehabilitation LLC

Williston Healthcare & Rehabilitation LLC, once known as Laurel Baye Healthcare, sits in Barnwell County and has served the area for over 40 years with a strong family atmosphere in a country setting, and folks around here say it's a clean place with friendly, caring staff that know how to pay attention and go the extra mile, which matters quite a bit when you're talking about someone needing real help. The facility holds 44 beds for skilled nursing care, including 9 private rooms, and covers both long-term and short-term stays, so whether someone needs to recover in the middle between hospital and going home, or needs help every day, there's skilled nursing, memory care, independent living, assisted living, hospice, and even respite care, with an emergency call system, housekeeping, cable TV, and internet access in the units, which helps folks stay comfortable and connected. They've got a residents lounge, restaurant-style dining, a courtyard with walkways, and a controlled access building to help everyone stay safe, plus there's always 24-hour nurse coverage with experienced nurses, CNAs, and support staff looking after residents' health, social, and spiritual needs-so it's more than just giving medicine or checking temperatures, there's an activities director, daily activities, regular social outings, on-site beauty services, a therapy room, and personalized diet plans to make sure people are cared for as individuals.

Rehabilitation is a big part of what goes on here, with professional physical, occupational, and speech therapies offered on both inpatient and outpatient bases, with Williston Healthcare & Rehabilitation LLC standing as the only outpatient rehab facility in Barnwell County, and that includes not just regular rehab but outpatient occupational and physical therapy too, so a lot of folks come here after a hospital stay to get stronger before they head home, and even those living at home can use their support programs, which reach into home care, home health, and hospice, with support and referrals available. The building's kept in good shape, has big, clean spaces, private bathrooms, 24-hour emergency maintenance, laundry services, and both transportation and medication management as part of daily life, while safety matters are addressed with WanderGuard systems, controlled building access, and a medical director overseeing care.

The facility's always got open visiting hours, so family and friends can come when needed, even if the main office staff only work weekdays, and there's a lot of emphasis on keeping everyone comfortable, making sure needs are met, and helping each person reach their best level of independence or comfort, because each resident or patient gets personalized care tailored just for them. Williston Healthcare & Rehabilitation LLC is managed by Nielson Financial Services Inc. out of Orlando, Florida, holds membership with the American Health Care Association and South Carolina Healthcare Association, and works with local groups and businesses to help support both the residents and the broader community, building lasting relationships for the long run.
