    Clean pleasant facility; outstanding care

I'm pleased with the facility - always clean, pleasant-smelling, and well maintained (older building with a newer wing). Staff are courteous, caring, efficient, and keep my family informed; the care feels outstanding. Dining is good and nutritional, and there are plenty of activities (Bingo, puzzles, games, singing, church visits). Rooms can be double occupancy but are adequate; overall a very good experience.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment in the reviews is strongly positive, with recurring praise for the quality of care and the demeanor of staff. Multiple reviewers emphasize that staff members are helpful, kind, courteous, and efficient, and that they keep families well informed about residents' needs and status. The phrase "outstanding care" appears in the summaries, suggesting that clinical and day-to-day care needs are being met reliably. This consistent emphasis on staff competence and communication is a dominant theme across the feedback.

Cleanliness and the general environment are other prominent strengths. Reviewers note that the facility is always clean and pleasant-smelling, and that the environment is "very good." The dining area is specifically called out as being well kept, and the food is described as good and nutritious. This indicates attention to both infection control/housekeeping standards and meal quality—two important factors for family members evaluating long-term care settings.

Activity programming and social engagement receive substantial positive remarks. Residents have access to daily activities including bingo, puzzles, games, and singing, and there are organized visits from church groups. Reviewers describe "many activities" and "daily activities," implying a consistent schedule of social, recreational, and spiritual programming that supports resident quality of life and engagement.

Facility condition has mixed notes: reviewers point out that the nursing home is an older facility but has a newer section. While this suggests some recent investment or expansion, the mention of age indicates parts of the building may be dated. Another recurrent practical detail is the presence of double-occupancy (shared) rooms; reviewers qualify these as "sufficient," but shared rooms can nonetheless be a consideration for families prioritizing privacy. These are the main limitations surfaced in the reviews and are framed more as descriptive caveats than strong complaints.

Taken together, the reviews portray Crockett County Nursing Home as a well-run facility with a caring, communicative staff, good cleanliness standards, solid dining, and an active calendar of activities and spiritual support. The most frequent strengths are staff behavior, quality of care, cleanliness, and resident engagement. The principal concerns are the age of parts of the building and the prevalence of shared rooms—issues that may matter differently depending on individual priorities. One reviewer noted they "haven't been in long time," which suggests at least one perspective is based on limited exposure rather than long-term experience; overall, however, the aggregated tone is positive and indicates consistent satisfaction among those who provided feedback.

    About Crockett County Nursing Home

Crockett County Nursing Home, owned by Crockett County Nursing Home, Inc., has served the local community for over 50 years and has 121 certified beds, though as of June 2025 only 59 of those beds are certified for use. The facility runs with a 66.3% nurse turnover rate, which is worth noting, and staff provide 4.54 nurse hours per resident per day. There've been deficiencies related to infection control, medication error rates, and helping residents with daily activities. This nursing home accepts Medicare and Medicaid, and offers both short-term and long-term care including physical, occupational, and speech therapy, as well as more specialized medical help like dialysis support, diabetic care, wound management, and stroke care, so people with more medical needs are covered. Residents get 24-hour nursing care with staff that includes physicians, pharmacists, dietitians, activity coordinators, and therapists, and there's an option for home health care and adult day care for those who need it.

The grounds feel secure, with an ankle bracelet alarm system for memory care residents, and the facility is designed to be comfortable and homelike, with private rooms, each with a private bathroom, cable TV, phone, air conditioning, kitchenettes, and Wi-Fi. There are outdoor spaces, walking paths, gardens, and various community rooms like a library, music room, activity room, and a fitness room, so there's always something to do. People enjoy regular social and recreational programs, movie nights, musical performances, games, animal shows, worship services, meditation, and Bible study, and residents can visit a beauty shop on-site for haircuts and other services, usually free once a month. Housekeeping, laundry, transportation, and parking are provided, and there's an option for families to do laundry at home using iron-on labels.

Meals are served restaurant-style all day, with choices for allergies and diabetes, overseen by a certified dietitian who adjusts menus to fit different tastes, so nutrition needs get met. Staff help with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, transfers, and medication management, since many residents need extra support in these areas, though it's important to know there've been recent deficiencies in this type of care. Physical, occupational, and speech therapies happen both for rehabilitation and ongoing treatment, and there are subacute and restorative nursing care options. The therapy hall's recently been renovated, with private rooms for therapy patients, giving those who need rehab a place to recover. The nursing staff cover both 12- and 16-hour shifts so someone's always available. There's a daily activities schedule, emergency alert system in each room, and social workers on hand to help with admissions, discharge, and coordinating care. While the staff is described as compassionate and the environment is focused on building connections among residents, the reported deficiencies in infection control, daily care, and medication error rates are concerns families should consider when choosing a facility.
