    Outstanding nonprofit community with amenities

My mom moved in and I'm very pleased: professional, friendly caregivers who remembered visitors and responded promptly; spotless, beautiful grounds with a lobby piano, an aviary our kids loved, and a library with new books my mom adores. Spacious, well-appointed multi-bed units (large master, full kitchen, patio, two-car garage), active calendar (crafts, salon, game rooms), walking track and park nearby, plus on-site and take-home meals - I highly recommend this nonprofit community.

    Summary of reviews

Hearthside Senior Living presents a mix of strong facility features and operational concerns. Physically, the property is described as well maintained with spacious, well‑appointed units (including multi‑bedroom floorplans, large master suites, patios and two‑car garages). Common amenities receive consistent praise: a clean environment, on‑site game rooms, a library, a lobby piano and an enclosed aviary were highlighted as enhancing quality of life; there is park access, a walking track, and an active activities calendar. Dining and hospitality features are generally seen positively — reviewers note quality meals, take‑home meal options, and on‑site salon services. Several accounts emphasize a warm, home‑like atmosphere for many residents and friendly, helpful staff who remember visitors and engage personally with residents and families.

Care and staffing present mixed signals. Many families praised caregivers as professional, caring, and responsive — including timely assistance with personal‑care needs and organized activity programming. At the same time, a substantive operational pattern emerges around staffing and supervision: reviewers pointed to reduced coverage after mid‑afternoon and described instances that reveal gaps in supervision and in the facility’s incident‑response and notification processes. An individual account cited a serious supervision lapse that resulted in a resident leaving an area and being injured; that report, combined with commentary that the community may not be well suited for people with cognitive impairment, indicates limited dementia‑care capability and a need to verify supervision protocols for higher‑risk residents.

Communication and management responsiveness are other notable themes. While direct care staff are frequently described as friendly and personable, several reviewers noted lapses in communication — both between staff and families and in responsiveness to external inquiries such as volunteer coordination. Pricing impressions are mixed: some reviewers reference a nonprofit pricing advantage, while others find costs high relative to expectations. A few reviewers also felt portions of the facility lean toward a commercial atmosphere rather than a uniformly homelike design, and some would like more enclosed outdoor communal space (internal courtyard).

Recommendations for prospective residents and families: verify staffing ratios and coverage during afternoons/evenings, ask about elopement‑prevention and supervision practices for residents with cognitive impairment, confirm incident‑notification procedures and family communication pathways, and compare actual fees against the services you consider essential (dining, activities, salon, transportation, specialized care). For many residents Hearthside appears to offer strong amenities and an active social program; for those requiring enhanced cognitive support or continuous supervision, further due diligence is advised.

    About Hearthside Senior Living

Hearthside Senior Living sits right in the heart of Lebanon and is tied to the Hearthside Senior Living of Lebanon community, and you'll find that residents can choose from independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and even memory care, depending on what's needed at the time, so folks can age in place and get more help if their needs change. There are specific room and suite options, like The Cadet, The Corporal, The Commandant, and The Castle for independent living folks, and for those needing more support, the assisted living area has Academy Apartments, Medium Suites, and Large Suites. Hearthside's been offering living help for over 30 years, and everything sits together on a single campus, which is helpful for families wanting their loved ones close by and in a Christian environment.

There are home health care and hospice care options certified by Medicare, and a whole skilled nursing service for long-term care, so if you need more than help with bathing and dressing-like rehab or being bedbound-there's help on hand. The community also offers home care services, memory care for seniors with Alzheimer's or dementia who may be at risk of wandering, and adult day services that can help folks who need only part-time support. Residents get 24-hour supervision, a 24-hour call system for emergencies, and staff with experience and kindness are around at all times for things like medication reminders, bathing, dressing, and getting around, whether that's by walker, wheelchair, or needing to stay in bed.

Hearthside welcomes pets, so dogs and cats are part of the community too. You'll see indoor common areas for gathering, an onsite barber and salon for easy grooming, dining rooms for meals, and a garden with walking paths for people wanting to get outside. The dining service provides all-day dining, and chefs and meal planners help create dishes, including some that meet special diet needs, and people have called out the food for being tasty and nutritious. There's also help with laundry, dry cleaning, housekeeping, and even move-in coordination, so settling in gets a bit easier.

They run a full program of social events, like movie nights, arts and crafts in the arts room, and activities meant to keep people mentally and physically active, recognized now and then by awards for how much they do to get everyone involved. Residents even start and run activities themselves, and sometimes head out for group trips since shopping, restaurants, and other activities are close by. There's an emergency alert system throughout, a transportation service, parking spots, and furnished rooms with phone and television.

Devotional services happen offsite, which suits people who want that as part of their week, and the staff coordinate with outside healthcare providers so medical needs don't get overlooked. Hearthside also has a handy feature-it offers help across the entire range of daily living needs, from help with basic needs like soaking in the tub or keeping up with medicine, to advanced support for seniors who need a lot of physical help.

So, Hearthside Senior Living really covers many stages and needs for seniors, mixing independent living and active retirement with more hands-on help, all in a place that feels welcoming and built for easy daily life. The homes and suites are all designed with seniors in mind, and the campus lets people have peace of mind, knowing that as needs change, support is right there.
