    Satisfied family recommends caring staff

I placed my parent here and have been very pleased overall. The staff are friendly, caring, and communicative-nurses advocate for residents and minor issues are handled quickly. Apartments and grounds are always clean and homey, with comfortable, varied layouts; the food and engaging activities (cards, woodwork) are a nice bonus. I have peace of mind and would recommend this community to other families.

    Summary of reviews

Ascension Living Alexian Village - Tennessee is described overall as a well-kept, home-like senior living community with strengths in direct care, campus upkeep, and resident programming. Families and visitors commonly emphasize a clean, odor-free environment, well-maintained grounds, and a warm interior décor that contributes to a sense of comfort and peace of mind. The community offers a range of apartment sizes, including larger two-bedroom/two-bath units, and maintains an on-site memory care unit alongside other care-level options.

Care and staffing receive consistent positive remarks. Caregivers and nursing staff are characterized as friendly, caring, and helpful; reviewers highlight a favorable staff–resident ratio, strong advocacy on behalf of residents, and overall attentiveness. Management is portrayed as responsive—minor operational issues are generally resolved quickly—which contributes to family confidence in the care team.

Dining and activities are other notable strengths. Food quality is described positively, and the community provides an active calendar with social and recreational offerings such as card games and a woodwork class. These programs appear to support resident engagement and a varied daily life. The presence of multiple care levels, including memory care, gives families options as needs change.

Facility attributes are frequently praised: the campus is tidy and well cared-for, common areas are described as comfortable and home-like, and apartment choices are varied in size and layout. At the same time, a small number of impressions point to variability in the facility’s atmosphere; some observers find certain communal spaces darker or more institutional in feel. This suggests that ambiance and lighting may be inconsistent across different areas.

A consistent pattern is overall satisfaction tempered by occasional operational inconsistencies. While the staff and management generally address problems promptly, intermittent service lapses or organizational issues are implied by comments about minor problems that required resolution. Prospective residents should also note the facility’s Catholic orientation; this is a defining characteristic that may be a positive for some families and a less fitting match for others.

In summary, Alexian Village appears to be a community with strong caregiving, good dining and activity options, and well-maintained facilities that deliver peace of mind to many families. Those touring the campus should evaluate specific living areas for lighting and atmosphere and discuss operational details with staff to confirm how the community’s routines and religious orientation align with their preferences.

The facility provides assisted living services designed to help with daily needs such as bathing, dressing, and medication management, and for those who need extra attention there's a dedicated memory care unit with specially trained staff who focus on the safety and well-being of people living with Alzheimer's or other types of dementia, giving families some peace of mind that someone's watching over their loved ones in a safe place with security gates and secured areas to prevent wandering.
