    Clean compassionate home-like rehab facility

I placed my loved one here for short-term rehab and was very pleased: clean, home-like facility with excellent therapy and a compassionate, knowledgeable staff. The activities director keeps residents engaged and spiritually nourished, and the nursing team is warm, attentive, and genuinely caring - I happily recommend this healing environment.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews indicate a facility with several clear strengths alongside operational inconsistencies. Positive comments cluster around the clinical rehabilitation program and the interpersonal quality of frontline staff: families and visitors describe knowledgeable therapy teams, a strong short-term/post-acute focus, and nursing and therapy staff who are caring and proactive in helping residents reach therapy goals. The facilityโ€™s small, home-like setting and an activities program that includes spiritual options contribute to a warm, engaged resident atmosphere.

Staff-related feedback is largely favorable about compassion and teamwork; reviewers highlight an empathetic activities director, friendly direct-care staff, and a positive workplace culture that appears to support resident connection. At the same time, there are recurring concerns about variability in staff training and availability. Reviewers describe occasions when staffing levels affected routine personal care (for example, bathing schedules) and when clinical consistency seemed uneven. There are also specific concerns about oversight in the memory-care unit that suggest the facility should clarify staffing models, supervision, and training for residents with cognitive impairment.

Dining is a mixed area: some reviewers praise overall care while others raise issues with meal execution and menu communication, describing inconsistent doneness and unclear dish descriptions. This points to a need for strengthened kitchen quality-control and clearer menu labeling to ensure predictable meal experiences for residents and families.

Communication and care transitions are additional patterns raised. Families note instances of unclear or inaccurate information and express frustration with responsiveness from certain staff or managers. A small number of accounts reference transfers to external psychiatric services; these comments highlight the importance of transparent protocols for behavioral-health escalation and family notification.

Facility layout and logistics present practical limits in some areas. The small scale and narrower corridors are cited as part of the home-like character, but they may constrain movement or programing for certain residents. Prospective residents and families should weigh the benefits of a smaller, intimate setting against space limitations.

Overall, the facility receives strong marks for rehabilitation, individualized attention, and a warm community environment. The most consistent areas for improvement are operational: ensuring reliable staffing levels and training (particularly in memory care), standardizing dining quality and menu communication, and improving family communication and transfer protocols. Prospective families may want to observe mealtime, ask about staffing ratios and memory-care oversight, and request the facilityโ€™s behavioral-health escalation and family-communication policies during a tour.

About Corrigan LTC Nursing and Rehab

Corrigan LTC Nursing and Rehab sits at 300 Geneva in Corrigan, Texas, and has been offering long-term care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation for people who need more help than what they can get at home but don't need to be in a hospital. The place has private and semi-private rooms, a lobby, and living areas where folks can visit, along with dedicated therapy spaces for different rehab needs, and they've updated the place not too long ago, so things look pretty current. There's a secured unit for people living with Alzheimer's or dementia who need extra support, and they also have daily activities and transportation services using a facility van. The nursing staff stays on-site round-the-clock and takes care of specialized skin and wound care, pain management, intravenous therapy, pulmonary rehabilitation, diabetic care, and makes individualized plans for everyone, which means if someone has something very specific going on with their health, the treatment plan covers that too. Meals here come from a licensed dietician, with three home-cooked options every day, tailored to both special diets and what residents prefer.

Corrigan LTC Nursing and Rehab provides both inpatient and outpatient therapy, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy, with therapists working to help each person reach their best level of strength and independence, and they provide family mail services to help loved ones keep in touch. They focus on both short-term stays-which usually last less than six weeks-and longer-term residents, especially those coming in for rehabilitation after being in the hospital, and offer transportation for appointments or outings as needed.

The facility supports people getting their nurse aide certification, too, following a state-approved program through the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services, with 75 hours of classroom and clinical training under Registered Nurse supervision, and options for free training if an employer sponsors someone. The nurse aide exam uses written or oral tests-either on a computer or with a remote proctor-and includes hands-on skills checks from Prometric all on the same day; the certificate stays valid for two years, and if someone's working at a Medicare or Medicaid facility after getting certified, they might get back the money spent on tuition and tests within a year. Requirements before starting the program include being over 18, having a clean criminal background, up-to-date shots, a negative TB test, and a CPR card.

Services at Corrigan LTC Nursing and Rehab span a lot of types, from addiction recovery to behavioral therapy, with specialized care for veterans, teens, LGBTQ+, or people needing holistic or faith-based support, and even cover pain management, neurological rehabilitation, and pet-assisted therapy. The place aims to help both older adults and folks with a range of health, therapy, and recovery needs adjust, heal, or live as well as they can, with staff putting time into developing real relationships with every resident and their family. The community tries to change how people think about long-term care, offering cost-effective, good-quality rehabilitation and support in a welcoming, recently refreshed space, and there's a video tour people can watch to see more about the facility.
