    Brand-new community with excellent care

I love living here - brand-new, clean community with roomy apartments, a gorgeous courtyard and outdoor heated pool. Staff are friendly and helpful and the care is excellent. Activities are varied and engaging (aerobics, pool/spa, bingo, poker, mixers and holiday events), meals are good with a breakfast chef, garages available, and the cost feels fair - I would definitely recommend it to families.

    Summary of reviews

Family Ties Senior Citizen Home presents as a largely new, well-maintained community with strengths in amenities, social programming, and resident spaces. Reviewers consistently praise the facility’s cleanliness, contemporary common areas, roomy apartment layouts, and outdoor courtyard. The community’s activities program is described as broad — including pool use, spa access, aerobics, bingo, poker, monthly mixers, holiday events and birthday celebrations — and many families characterized it as engaging for residents who want social and recreational options.

Staff and care quality are generally described positively. Multiple comments emphasize friendly, helpful interactions and an acceptable level of daily care. Several residents and family members described an overall positive experience and said they would recommend the community. At the same time, reviewers identified operational inconsistencies: management turnover and a relatively inexperienced leadership presence have contributed to uneven communication and, at times, limited front-desk availability. These patterns have affected how quickly questions are answered and how reliably staff are present in the office.

Dining receives mixed but largely favorable remarks. The on-site dining program, including a breakfast chef or caterer on set days, is often described as good quality and a value compared with other options. However, there are intermittent issues with meal service continuity and meal temperature (some breakfasts arriving cold), indicating variability in day-to-day food-service delivery.

Facility-level maintenance and amenity management appear generally adequate but not consistently timely. The building’s amenities — pool, spa, and gates — are attractive features, yet some reviewers noted prolonged outages or slow repair response for specific amenities and occasional security/access lapses. Parking infrastructure exists, including garages, but there is a waiting-list dynamic for closer or disability-accessible spaces; this has generated frustration for some residents seeking accessible parking assignments.

Cost and lease concerns feature in several accounts. Many reviewers view the monthly cost as fair or competitive relative to local alternatives, and some called it a good value. Others felt the rent was higher than expected given service inconsistencies, expressed regret about long lease commitments (two-year leases), and noted a lack of transparency around supplemental monthly charges. A recurring theme is that initial move-in or early months can be rocky as operational kinks and staffing changes are worked through, but some families reported those issues improved over time.

Overall, Family Ties offers a strong physical environment and a wide range of social and wellness programming that many residents appreciate. Prospective residents and families should weigh the community’s appealing amenities and generally friendly staff against the potential for uneven management communication, variable maintenance responsiveness, and occasional dining-service inconsistencies. Visiting during business hours, asking for current leadership and maintenance response protocols, clarifying all monthly fees, and confirming parking accommodations are recommended steps before leasing.
