    Bright riverfront community, spotless apartments

I toured this bright, riverfront community and immediately felt at home - spotless, well-appointed apartments (kitchenettes, accessible baths, patios), lovely open spaces, and well-kept grounds. The staff and management were outstanding, meals and desserts were consistently good, and the busy activities calendar kept residents engaged; I'd happily recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

River Point of Kerrville presents as an attractive, well-appointed assisted-living and memory-care community. Multiple comments highlight a pleasant riverfront setting, bright public spaces with high ceilings and large windows, private outdoor areas (patios, gazebo), and apartments that include kitchenettes and accessible bathrooms. The physical plant and grounds are often described as clean and well-maintained, and amenities such as a salon, dining room, and transportation for outings are noted frequently.

Care quality and staff performance are described in mixed but distinct patterns. Many families and visitors describe front-line caregivers as warm, compassionate, and attentive; families report helpful onboarding during moves and positive end-of-life presence from leadership in at least one account. The community offers 24/7 RN coverage and on-site medical-management services, which some families found reassuring. However, other accounts indicate operational gaps: high staff turnover, inconsistent personal-care scheduling (including bathing frequency), and concerns about medication-management and timely delivery. There are also a limited number of serious claims about clinical assessments and regulatory issues that families should clarify directly with management.

Dining and activities are broadly strengths with caveats. The facility provides restaurant-style service, dietary accommodations, alternatives for special diets, and meal delivery when needed. Reviewers praised accommodating staff who tailor meal timing and choices. At the same time, recurring comments point to inconsistent meal quality, a repetitious breakfast menu, and occasional unpredictability in kitchen service — items families may want to taste and verify. Activities programming is robust across assisted living and memory care, including arts, bingo, trips to local attractions, live entertainment, and an active social calendar. A minority of families described pressure to participate in activities or guidance toward different levels of care that felt abrupt.

Management and administration show a clear split in perceptions. Several reviewers praised an engaged marketing team and responsive managers; others described administrative disorganization, slow or missing follow-through on billing and refundable deposits, and leadership instability. These operational weaknesses manifest as delays in refunds, inconsistent communication with families, and uneven orientation for new residents. Cleanliness and housekeeping are generally praised, but isolated sanitation or housekeeping inconsistencies were also mentioned and are best checked during a tour.

Overall pattern: River Point offers a strong physical environment, an active social program, and many compassionate staff members, making it appealing for families seeking an engaged assisted‑living or memory‑care setting. At the same time, persistent themes of staffing instability, inconsistent meal and personal-care delivery, and administrative follow-through create variability in resident experience. Prospective residents and families should schedule an in-person visit, observe meal service and activities, ask for written policies on staffing ratios, medication management, bathing schedules, incident reporting, and refund/billing procedures, and request references from current residents or families to assess consistency over time.
