    Mom is safe, comfortable, happy

I moved my mom into Beehive Homes of Lewisville and have been very impressed. The staff are kind, attentive and hands-on (Rusinder and Margo Brooks were a huge help with move-in), the facility is spotless and homey, rooms are spacious, meals and activities are thoughtful, and ownership is visible and engaged. My mom is safe, comfortable, and happy here - I would definitely recommend it to other families.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment in the review summaries is strongly positive, with a clear pattern of praise for hands-on ownership, compassionate staff, cleanliness, food quality, and individualized care. Many reviewers explicitly note that ownership changed in March 2025 and that the new owners are highly visible and involved — checking in daily, participating in operations, and ensuring a family-run, nurturing atmosphere. The staff is repeatedly described as warm, caring, and committed; reviewers use terms like "family-like," "incredible caring staff," and "kind, professional" to characterize caregivers and nursing personnel. Several reviews call out specific staff members (Rusinder, Margo Brooks) for helpfulness during move-ins and coordination, which reinforces the impression of attentive intake and transition support.

Care quality and clinical oversight are recurring strengths. Multiple summaries highlight individualized care plans, consistent following of personal care instructions, timely hospital notification and follow-up, and presence of an attentive house manager and nurse. Reviewers describe residents as relaxed, busy, happy, and well cared for; social and end-of-life care are singled out for dignity and compassion. Communication is characterized as honest and solution-focused in many accounts, with staff who listen and follow through. Operationally the facility is described as tightly managed, with staff incentives and an apparent low resident-to-staff ratio that supports close supervision and personalized attention.

Facilities, cleanliness, and the physical environment receive extensive praise. The building is described as brand-new or recently updated, with new flooring, fresh paint, updated decorations, well-designed layouts, spacious rooms and bathrooms, and no typical institutional odors. Common areas like a central kitchen and fireplace seating area are mentioned, contributing to a home-like feel. Cleanliness is consistently called "superb," and reviewers describe the environment as organized and safe. Several reviewers reported positive experiences during emergencies (for example, assistance during a power outage), which supports the view that the facility is prepared and responsive.

Dining and activities are clear strengths. Many summaries emphasize outstanding, home-cooked meals prepared by exceptional cooks, with customization for individual preferences and capabilities. Activities are described as tailored to residents’ interests and abilities, encouraging participation and socialization. These offerings appear to contribute significantly to resident happiness and engagement, reinforcing the small-community, family atmosphere many reviewers value.

Management and pricing comments are generally favorable: owners are engaged, pricing is described as straightforward and all-inclusive, and reviewers perceive strong value for the level of care provided. The facility’s popularity is indicated by mentions of a waiting list, suggesting demand driven by the positive reputation described above.

Notable concerns are limited but important. The most repeated negative theme is religious emphasis: several reviewers report frequent minister visits, religious cards, and a belief among staff that everyone is Christian. Some residents and family members felt stressed or that there was insufficient sensitivity to different beliefs. This pattern suggests prospective residents who prioritize strict religious neutrality should ask specific questions about the facility’s spiritual programming and how it accommodates diverse faiths or nonreligious preferences. Additionally, at least one review relates a serious complaint about an executive director who was described as rude, condescending, and prejudiced; while this appears to be an isolated negative report against a backdrop of many positive accounts, it is significant enough that prospective families may want to verify current leadership and ask about grievance procedures.

A minor logistical note is apparent inconsistency in some review text referring to "Beehive" or "Beehive Homes of Lewisville." This could reflect a shared staffing model, past affiliation, reviewer confusion, or copy-paste overlap in review submissions. Prospective families should confirm the facility’s current ownership/branding and any affiliations to avoid confusion.

In summary, the aggregated reviews portray AvilaCare Assisted Living of Flower Mound as a well-managed, clean, home-like assisted living community with engaged ownership, compassionate and consistent caregiving, excellent food, meaningful activities, and strong communication. The most important caveats noted by multiple reviewers are the facility’s religious orientation/activities and one serious complaint about leadership demeanor; both should be clarified directly with management during a tour or pre-admission conversation. Given the high levels of praise across caregiving, environment, and resident satisfaction — plus mentions of a waiting list — the facility appears to be a strong option for seniors seeking personalized, family-centered assisted living, provided the prospective resident is comfortable with or tolerant of the facility’s religious programming or has discussed accommodations in advance.
