    Grateful for caring helpful staff

I placed my mother here and I'm grateful for the caring, helpful staff who handled insurance and coordinated excellent physical therapy. Her room was clean, the campus felt secure and quiet, and there are daily activities, an open rec area and a nice library. The community was friendly, she was well taken care of and comfortable - overall a very good experience.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews present a mixed but specific portrait of Reunion Inn Assisted Living. Many families praised the interpersonal side of care: front‑line employees are described as caring and helpful, with several individual caregivers singled out for particular compassion. Facility amenities mentioned positively include clean resident rooms, a secure campus, an open recreation area and library, a daily activities program, and onsite physical therapy. These elements suggest an environment that can provide comfort, engagement, and basic rehabilitative support for residents.

At the same time, several operational concerns recur in the feedback. Staffing inconsistency is the primary theme: reviewers indicate periods when staffing levels appear inadequate to meet resident needs, which has been associated with inconsistent personal‑care delivery. Specific operational patterns cited include irregular bathing schedules and delays in attending to incontinence‑related needs. Families also described limited accessibility of the facility outside normal hours, noting restricted phone contact after evening hours and before early morning, which can complicate communication during off‑shift times.

A second area of concern involves surveillance and accountability. The presence and use of cameras were a focal point in some accounts, producing privacy tensions and disputes between families and staff. Reviewers expressed worries about how monitoring and subsequent accusations were handled, pointing to variability in managerial response and a perceived need for clearer policies and communication about surveillance and staff conduct.

Information about dining quality and meal service is limited in the available summaries; reviewers did not consistently comment on food beyond general references to comfort and well‑being. Where operational strengths are clear, they center on daily programming, therapeutic services, and a generally quiet, friendly community atmosphere that some families described as providing comfort at the end of life.

For prospective residents and families, the pattern in these reviews suggests weighing interpersonal strengths against operational variability. When evaluating the community, ask specifically about average staffing ratios by shift, documented bathing and toileting assistance plans, after‑hours communication protocols, camera and privacy policies, and examples of how management addresses performance or conduct concerns. On-site visits that include conversations with front‑line caregivers, a review of written care plans, and clarification of emergency contact procedures will help determine whether the facility’s strengths align with a particular resident’s needs.

    About Reunion Inn Assisted Living

Reunion Inn Assisted Living in Marshall, TX, sits as a large community that focuses on seniors who want to keep their independence but need a hand with daily things like bathing, dressing, taking medicine, and moving around safely, and it does this by making personalized care plans and working closely with each person's doctor, and whether someone needs just a little help or more support because of memory problems, nurses, care aides, and personal care assistants are around twenty-four hours a day for safety and emergencies, and the staff can help people move from beds to wheelchairs, keep an eye on diabetes, and also arrange for things like wound care or occupational therapy, and folks get meals cooked for them with a dining room and a professional chef who can change menus for food allergies or diabetes, and they'll find studio rooms, one-bedroom, semi-private, and two-bedroom layouts, with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, and air conditioning, plus Wi-Fi and cable TV, and plenty of washers and dryers for clothes, and there's a fitness center, beauty salon, game room, movie theater, walking paths, gardens, and outdoor common spots where people can gather and spend time. The staff includes an administrator, Judy Lewis, who also looks after personalized services, and the program includes memory care for people with Alzheimer's or dementia, with safety features like sprinkler systems throughout, and the building always meets Texas state rules, so it's inspected and licensed, and the records can be checked. Residents have help with housekeeping, laundry, transportation to appointments or stores, and the community keeps a regular list of activities like movie nights, crafts, outdoor walks, music, church groups, and special wellness events so that people stay active and have a chance to meet others and keep connected to family or faith. There are home care and skilled nursing options for people who want to stay put if their needs change and they need extra support, and administrators work with families on move-in steps and waiting lists, including talking about payment options like private pay, Social Security, insurance, veteran's benefits, long-term care insurance, and sometimes support with figuring out things like Medicare or Medicaid. There's an initial assessment when someone moves in so the care fits what each person needs, and if a person is looking to understand the difference between independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing, the staff and care coordinators can explain that, explain discharge planning, and answer questions about eldercare finances and staff ratios. There's a Facebook page for updates, and Reunion Inn Assisted Living opened its business file in 2007, with a high BBB rating though it doesn't carry an accreditation right now, and it has policies in place for safety, privacy, move-in, and waiting lists, and the place feels very much like home, with a community focus on treating each person with respect, kindness, and support to help them lead their lives with dignity.
