    Spotless home, caring staff, activities

I placed my mom here and was very pleased. The small, home-like house is spotless and smells great; staff are kind, compassionate and attentive-Nicole and Paul stood out as fantastic and caring. The knowledgeable owner runs a safety-first place that kept COVID out, residents are well cared for, meals are varied and elaborate, and activities (more puzzles than Bingo) plus hairdresser outings made her stay comfortable and appreciated.

    Summary of reviews

Clare Creek Personal Care Home presents a mixed overall picture. Many families describe a home-like, small-house environment with clean, well-maintained interiors and a safety-focused approach to infection control. Several accounts praise specific staff for being compassionate, attentive, and responsive; reviewers highlighted attentive daily care, hands-on supervision, and coordination with hospice services where appropriate. The facility’s small scale appears to support individualized attention for some residents and contributes to a familiar residential atmosphere.

Dining and activity programming are frequently cited as strengths. Reviewers mention diverse, appealing meal choices and more varied recreational options than typical (puzzles, outings, and external hairdresser visits were noted). These elements appear to contribute to residents’ social engagement and quality of life for many families. The facility is described as not overly fancy but comfortable and oriented toward creating a residential rather than institutional experience.

At the same time, there are notable and serious concerns that prospective families should consider. Accounts vary widely on care consistency: while some residents experienced marked improvement and attentive support, other accounts describe delayed response to care needs and specific concerns about assistance with feeding and basic activities of daily living. These descriptions point toward inconsistent operational performance rather than a single, uniform level of care across all residents.

Management and business-practice issues are another recurring pattern. Multiple reviewers compliment the owner and some staff for responsiveness and knowledge, but other families raised significant concerns about billing, refunds, restitution, and the facility’s handling of financial disputes. There are also more serious allegations in some accounts, including concerns that arose following residents’ deaths and unresolved financial claims; these items have led to legal action in at least one account. Together, these comments suggest potential weaknesses in financial transparency, dispute resolution, and communication around adverse events.

Infection-control and visitation policy decisions were reported as strongly enforced during the COVID period, with some families noting strict restrictions and others appreciating the safety-first stance. Prospective residents and their families should weigh the facility’s strengths — personalized attention, clean environment, engaging meals and activities — against the reported variability in day-to-day care consistency and the documented concerns about financial practices and incident communication. When considering Clare Creek, visitors should ask for clear, written policies on assistance with ADLs (including feeding), incident reporting and family notification, and detailed financial and refund procedures; they should also seek recent references from current families to assess current operational consistency.
