    Clean caring family-like reliable home

I placed my mother here and have been very pleased. The home is clean, comfortable, and family-like, with caring, attentive staff and a hands-on, down-to-earth owner; therapists visit regularly and there are plenty of activities. Overall a very good, reliable place for a loved one - I would recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Round Rock Assisted Living is described as a small, home-style assisted living community with a strong emphasis on personalized attention. Many accounts highlight a favorable caregiver-to-resident ratio, frequent therapist involvement, and a warm, family-like culture. The facility is often characterized as clean, well-furnished and closely connected to staff who are described as attentive, accommodating and available around the clock.

Care quality and clinical supports: Several families emphasize hands-on caregiving and continuity of therapy; licensed therapists are on staff and are reported to provide ongoing visits (noted as twice-weekly in some descriptions). Reviewers describe compassionate, personalized assistance suited to residents who need daily support and rehabilitative services rather than high-acuity medical care. However, there are operational limits: the community’s small size and staffing model appear less well-suited to residents with significant behavioral challenges or acute clinical events. There are comments indicating gaps in preparedness for wandering or sundowning behaviors; these suggest the facility may be best for residents who do not require intensive behavioral-management protocols.

Staff, workplace culture, and management: Staff are commonly described as caring, hardworking, and invested in residents; ownership is described as involved and hands-on, and management appears to prioritize a supportive workplace culture for employees. At least one note references a pending ownership change and planned facility improvements that had not yet been implemented at the time of comment, creating some short-term uncertainty about future changes. Overall, hands-on management and competitive employee practices are strengths that contribute to continuity of care.

Activities and therapy: The community offers an active program of games and social activities that contribute to a communal feel. Therapy services are a notable strength relative to comparable small facilities, with licensed therapists and regular, ongoing therapy continuity mentioned positively.

Facilities and environment: Physical spaces are described as tidy, comfortable and modestly furnished; a variety of room configurations is available (single, double, triple). The setting leans toward a domestic, rustic aesthetic and a homelike atmosphere, which some families find appealing while others consider it a mismatch with their expectations for a more institutional or upscale environment. A consistent operational limitation is limited availability of private in-suite bathrooms; shared ensuite arrangements are common.

Notable patterns and recommendations: The predominant pattern is strong personal care delivered by compassionate staff in a small, home-like setting with good rehabilitative services. Potential residents and families should weigh that strength against the facility’s limited capacity for higher-acuity medical and behavioral needs, the prevalence of shared bathroom arrangements, and the short-term uncertainty associated with management transitions and delayed upgrade implementation. For prospective residents who prioritize personalized attention, therapy continuity, and a warm, family-oriented environment, Round Rock Assisted Living appears well aligned; for those who require private in-room bathing facilities or robust behavioral-management and acute-care infrastructure, the facility may not be the best fit.

    About Round Rock Assisted Living

Round Rock Assisted Living is a small, smoke-free senior living community licensed for up to 12 residents, and this places a strong focus on helping each resident reach their highest potential with daily support and specialized cognitive programming designed by a Speech Language Pathologist, which helps folks with memory care needs like Alzheimer's or dementia, and they've got both private and semi-private rooms, including studios, singles, and two-bedroom options, with all rooms coming with basic furnishings and space for personal items, giving residents the feeling of home as well as safety thanks to features like handicap access, a sprinkler system, and regular cleaning under CDC guidelines, so you can be sure the environment is secure and clean. The community is Christian-based, offering care services that feel like a big family, where staff see residents as extended family instead of patients, and they focus on dignity and independence by allowing residents to move about freely, with just enough help for things like bathing, dressing, medication help, or other daily activities. Here, comfort means more than just familiar furniture, because there's Wi-Fi, cable TV, housekeeping, kitchenettes, washers, dryers, guest parking, and game or activity rooms, plus a salon and fitness center on site, and pet-friendly policies for those who want close animal companions. Residents can enjoy a variety of homemade meals in the dining area, get involved in arts and crafts, join social groups, or spend time on health and wellness programs and educational activities, and for folks who need extra support, there's home health, hospice care, occupational therapy, wound care, podiatry, nurses, and help with hygiene or grooming, and thanks to attentive assisted living and independent living options, or even nursing home care when needed, the community makes sure each person gets services tailored to their stage of aging, and for those who might only need a short stay, respite care is provided. Round Rock Assisted Living also offers tours and virtual visits for families who want to see the place themselves, and you can join waiting lists if space is full; overall, the design is meant to promote social activity, independence, and safety, while letting each resident bring their own personality into their living space.
