    Immediate peace of mind care

I placed my mom here and felt immediate peace of mind. The staff are kind, attentive, and know residents by name; communication is prompt and proactive. The facility is spotless, bright and homelike, meals are delicious, and there are plenty of activities to keep residents engaged. Hospice and nursing care were compassionate and professional. Overall, I recommend Spring Gardens for loving, high-quality care.

    Summary of reviews

Overall assessment Spring Gardens Senior Living Holladay receives consistently high praise across families and staff for compassionate, hands-on caregiving, an active social program, and a clean, well-maintained environment. Many comments emphasize that residents are known by name and receive individualized care plans, with particular strength noted in memory care and end-of-life support. The campus character is described as warm and family-like, with bright private rooms, attractive common areas, and a well-kept outdoor courtyard that supports visitation and family gatherings.

Care and clinical services Clinical oversight and nursing responsiveness are repeatedly highlighted. Reviewers describe regular monitoring, appropriate medication management, prevention-focused care for immobile residents, and attentive hospice support when needed. Several families credited staff with proactive communication during health changes and with providing dignity and privacy during end-of-life care. Staff stability, long-term caregivers, and on-site nursing leadership are presented as contributors to continuity of care and clinical competency.

Dining and activities Dining is characterized as homestyle with a rotating menu, appropriate portions, and frequent positive comments about specific dishes. The activities program is broad and active: daily exercise classes, crafts, music programs, movie nights, bingo, games, piano concerts, holiday events, and regular scenic drives or outings. Reviewers consistently note that programming keeps residents engaged and that staff-run events are frequent and varied.

Facilities and campus The physical plant is regularly described as bright, clean, and non-institutional. Common areas, dining rooms, and private rooms receive favorable remarks for decor, airiness, and pleasant atmosphere. Outdoor amenities such as patios, gardens, and a central fountain are seen as valuable for resident wellbeing. Housekeeping and maintenance are portrayed as reliable contributors to the overall environment.

Management, communication, and staffing Management and leadership receive strong positive mention, with specific praise for engaged executive and nursing directors and for staff-training initiatives. Families report open communication, proactive updates, and a collaborative approach to care planning. The community also appears to offer professional development opportunities for nursing staff and partnership with home-health providers when needed.

Notable patterns and cautions The overwhelming tenor of feedback is positive, but reviewers also indicated a few operational concerns to consider. Cost is described as higher than average; prospective residents should clarify pricing and included services. There are mentions of variability in front-desk/administrative responsiveness and occasional interpersonal issues at the reception level, so confirming points of contact and communication protocols is advisable. Finally, there is an isolated and serious allegation of staff-conduct misconduct in the memory-care area that resulted in personnel action; this points to the importance of asking about current staff-conduct oversight, incident reporting, and conflict-resolution processes during tours and intake discussions.

Recommendation summary Spring Gardens appears well suited for families seeking a bright, active community with strong memory-care and hospice capabilities, attentive nursing oversight, and robust activities and dining programs. Visitors should confirm current pricing, inquire about administrative communication practices, and review the facility’s procedures for staff oversight and incident management as part of their evaluation process.

About Spring Gardens Senior Living Holladay

Spring Gardens Senior Living Holladay is a large senior living community in Holladay, Utah, with space for up to 83 residents and a small-town feel with mountain views, where residents find all kinds of care, from independent living and assisted living to memory care and skilled nursing, and even home care and adult day services, so people can get what they need without moving, whether that's help with everyday activities, meals, medication, or more specialized support. The team, managed by Kim Gladstone, works hard to keep everyone comfortable and safe, and they're known for being patient and respectful, especially in Enhanced Memory Care, which focuses on supporting those with Alzheimer's and dementia using open layouts to reduce confusion and secure areas to keep everyone safe from wandering, while also offering person-centered dementia therapies and special activities.

Private rooms come in a choice of studio, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom layouts to fit different needs and budgets, and small pets are welcome, making it easier for folks to feel at home, with different prices based on the level of care needed. Around the building, you'll find cozy spots like a fireplace lobby, a library lounge, and a game lounge for socializing, plus an exercise room, an ice cream parlor, a movie room, and even a putting green outside, so residents have lots of ways to stay active or just relax, and they can visit with friends and family in outdoor spaces year-round, all in an atmosphere that feels both upscale and friendly.

Meals are served restaurant-style three times a day, made by culinary staff who try to include options for different diets, and the staff offers laundry, housekeeping, and incontinence care, taking care of the chores so residents have more time to enjoy activities, which are planned by Activity Directors and can include on-site and off-site events, arts and crafts, devotional activities, and more, so there's always something to do. There's also a hair salon and barbershop in the building, and for those who need help with things like dressing, grooming, or medication, the assisted living services are designed to keep people as independent as possible, but with a little extra help when it's needed.

Spring Gardens Senior Living Holladay, part of the Avista Senior Living network, accepts both Type 1 and Type 2 care (UT-only), offers respite care for short-term stays, and coordinates care with outside health providers as needed, providing a mix of comfort, safety, flexibility, and tailored care plans, with a 4.8 overall rating from verified reviews. The staff focus on building a sense of belonging and community through life engagement programs and social interaction, making sure that both long-term and short-term residents experience a supportive, well-cared-for environment that adapts as their needs change over time.
