    Caring staff and excellent amenities

I'm very happy I moved here - the GM and staff are genuinely caring and always go above and beyond, keeping me and my family informed. The dining is excellent (chef-driven, bright dining room), the community is clean and homey with lots of activities, friendly residents, weekly housekeeping/linens, on-site salon and medical services, and convenient transportation. It's pet-friendly, well-maintained, and welcoming - I'd gladly recommend it to others.

    Summary of reviews

Harrison Regent is consistently described as a warm, social independent‑living community with a strong emphasis on resident interaction and lifestyle programming. Many reviewers highlight compassionate, attentive staff and a family‑like atmosphere that helps new residents integrate through ambassador programs and proactive move‑in support. The community offers a wide range of daily activities — exercise classes, bingo, religious services, outings, craft groups, movie nights and special events — which reviewers credit with improving residents’ social engagement. On-site amenities such as a salon, housekeeping and linen service, an exercise area, library, and a variety of social spaces reinforce the independent‑living focus.

Dining and meal service draw mixed but prominent attention. Numerous comments praise chef-prepared meals, varied menus, and a welcoming dining room experience; some families appreciated in-room meal delivery and special dining offers. However, an equally prominent pattern describes inconsistent meal quality and service reliability: issues cited include overly salty dishes, occasional cold or poorly presented plates, food shortages or late service, and variable accommodation for dietary restrictions. Prospective residents should taste the food during a visit and clarify how dietary needs are managed.

Care and clinical coordination are available on-site in a limited capacity. Reviewers note access to home‑health providers, wound care, physical therapy, and assistance with bathing or dressing through an affiliated agency, and some families report effective monitoring and coordination with physicians. At the same time, Harrison Regent is positioned primarily as independent living rather than skilled nursing; several reviewers emphasized that the community is not suited for people with significant, progressive medical needs and recommended planning for alternative care if health declines.

Facilities and maintenance impressions are mixed. The property is frequently described as well‑kept outdoors, with pleasing landscaping, balconies and mountain views. Interior features such as fireplace seating areas, a dining room, and multiple activity rooms are positively noted. Conversely, many reviews identify building‑age issues: carpeting and carpeting odors in corridors, dated finishes in places, occasional water/flood damage and extended repair times, and a need for periodic upgrades. Parking limitations, a single elevator in some areas, and accessibility constraints were also mentioned as operational considerations.

Management and operations show a divided pattern. Several families commend individual managers and staff for kindness, responsiveness and pandemic precautions that limited infection spread. Yet there are repeated comments about management turnover, uneven responsiveness from the front office, unclear billing practices (including upfront, non‑refundable fees and questions about rate increases), and occasional disputes over payments. Staffing instability and short‑staffing contribute to variable resident experiences, and some reviewers raised concerns about staff conduct or communication tone that felt authoritative or inconsistent with the community’s otherwise friendly reputation.

Notable patterns for prospective residents and families: the community excels at social engagement, hospitality, and the independent‑living lifestyle — including pet accommodations — and offers a range of included services that support daily living. Areas that merit careful inquiry during a tour include meal sampling and dietary accommodations, the facility’s plan for residents who require increasing levels of care, current staffing levels and turnover, maintenance response protocols, parking and accessibility, and specific contract terms or one‑time fees. Overall, Harrison Regent appears to be a strong match for older adults seeking an active, socially oriented independent‑living environment, while those expecting long‑term clinical support or consistently high institutional reliability should verify operational details before committing.

    About Harrison Regent Retirement Community

Harrison Regent Retirement Community sits near the heart of Ogden, Utah, close to Union Station Museums, Ogden Botanical Gardens, and local shopping or dining, and what you notice right away is the mountain views and newly remodeled spaces with bright, accessible designs that make moving around easy for folks using walkers or wheelchairs, and they tend to keep things tidy and clean with weekly housekeeping, onsite maintenance, and a smoke-free environment along with ionized air filtering to keep the air clear of most viruses and bacteria. Here, residents can pick from studio, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom apartments, with eleven floor plans to fit different needs, and most apartments have kitchenettes, walk-in tubs, and might include a patio or a balcony, and pets like cats and dogs are welcome, too. Folks living here get three home-style meals every day, prepared by a chef, plus 24/7 dining for those who want a bite any time, and the private dining room comes in handy for family get-togethers or special occasions.

The community feels lively, and there's always something going on, whether tai chi, fitness classes, movie nights, bingo, holiday events, or day trips, and a robust activities calendar helps everyone find something to do-there's a library, game room, business center, beauty salon, outdoor pool, fitness room, and wifi in the common areas so people can read, watch television, or try a bit of exercise if they want. There are walking trails, gardens, and outdoor spaces with mountain views, and even covered and gated underground parking for safety, and they offer scheduled door-to-door transportation for appointments, shopping, or events in town. Safety measures include recorded monitoring, personal call systems, a pendant system for emergencies, smoke alarms, and sprinkler systems throughout, and support is always close by with a helpful staff and leadership like the Executive Director, Health Services Director, and Life Enrichment Director.

Harrison Regent offers assisted living, memory care for Alzheimer's or dementia, skilled nursing, home care support, and independent living, so older adults can pick the care they want and increase it if health needs change, and the staff are trained and experienced, providing help with things like bathing, dressing, toileting, medication management, mobility, and even end-of-life care or respite services if someone needs temporary support. Residents also get grooming help, laundry rooms, and a range of supplemental health and wellness services, with outside providers if extra care's needed. Extra features include the EZ Move Program for those needing moving help, a travel program so friends or family can visit with meals and guest rooms, and a resident referral program with bonuses for bringing in new folks. There are plenty of chances for socializing with organized clubs, social dining, and community events, and pet lovers appreciate the pet-walking and pet-friendly policies. Everything aims to keep residents safe, active, social, and independent for as long as possible, with award-winning activity programs and a friendly, caring staff known for patience and kindness, and for those looking for a simple, all-inclusive senior living option starting around $2,400 a month, this place covers most everyday needs and offers flexible month-to-month leases. Harrison Regent Retirement Community stands out for offering a range of support levels in one community, aiming to help folks age in place with comfort and dignity, with resources for families and a focus on health, wellness, and regular engagement that gives everyone a sense of belonging and purpose.
