    Happy resident praises Seville community

I moved to The Seville and have been very happy with my choice. The staff are kind, professional, and go above and beyond; the food is excellent and activities and concerts keep me engaged. The building is clean and beautifully remodeled with roomy, well-laid-out apartments, great amenities, convenient location, and a warm sense of community - I'd recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: The facility is consistently described as hotel-like and well-appointed, with strong emphasis on hospitality, social programming, and communal dining. Many families and long-term residents emphasize a warm, family-style atmosphere, frequent live entertainment, and a comprehensive set of amenities (salon, theater, library, exercise rooms, and shuttle service). The community appears attractive to socially engaged independent-living residents who value convenience and an all-inclusive model.

Care and staff: Staff are frequently characterized as compassionate, courteous, and attentive; many reviewers note first-name familiarity, accommodating behavior, and helpfulness with paperwork and medical appointments. At the same time, there are recurring comments about staffing turnover and variable responsiveness that can create uneven experiences. Several families described positive hands-on support and good coordination with outside home-health services; others raised concerns about communication tone or delays in responding to questions or care needs. In aggregate, staffing is a clear strength when stable, and an area of operational risk when turnover or scheduling strains occur.

Dining: Dining is a central strength. The community offers restaurant-style service with multiple daily meals, varied menus, and servers praised for attentiveness. The chef and kitchen staff receive strong endorsements from many residents; however, some accounts indicate inconsistency in food quality over time, texture or menu changes that some residents did not prefer, and limited snack options between meals. Prospective residents who prioritize consistent culinary quality may wish to sample meals multiple times and ask about recent menu changes.

Activities and social life: Programming is broad and active — concerts, brain-fitness classes, book clubs, art and cooking demonstrations, ice-cream socials, holiday events with family invitations, and regular outings. Transportation for local errands and events is available and well used. The social environment is generally described as lively and welcoming, producing many long-tenured residents and friendships. That said, reviewers also noted social dynamics such as cliques and occasional faith-related social exclusion; prospective residents should consider fit with the existing social culture.

Facilities and maintenance: Physical plant and amenities are frequently praised: remodeled dining areas, clean common spaces, well-kept landscaping, and a variety of activity rooms. On-site salon, laundry, parking for residents, and in-apartment options (refrigerator, limited kitchen setups in some units) are positives. Operationally, reviewers described maintenance strengths such as quick repairs, but there are also reports of delayed or incomplete repairs (for example drainage/parking-lot issues, ceiling leaks, or sprinkler work and needed reconstruction) and uneven grounds maintenance. Accessibility features in some bathrooms and shower designs were described as limited for certain mobility needs.

Management, billing, and notable patterns: Management receives mixed feedback. Many families find leadership helpful, kind, and responsive — with specific praise for staff who assist with VA paperwork and end-of-life support. Conversely, there are recurring criticisms about communication clarity, managerial demeanor, and unmet expectations around promised remodels. Financial administration is a notable area of concern: some reviewers described billing disputes and one or more serious allegations around billing practices and refunds. These are significant matters that warrant direct, document-based discussion during any tour or pre-admission meeting.

Bottom line: Solista Orem appears to offer a strong hospitality-oriented independent-living experience with robust programming, attractive communal spaces, and generally attentive staff. The primary operational risks to evaluate in person are consistency of staffing and meal quality over time, clarity and transparency of billing practices, thoroughness of housekeeping, parking and security arrangements, and the adequacy of accessibility and dementia-specific safety measures for residents with higher care needs. Prospective residents and families should prioritize multiple meal samples, a written review of fees and refund policies, a walkthrough of unit accessibility, and direct questions about staffing continuity and recent maintenance history.

    About Solista Orem

Solista Orem sits in a quiet corner of Orem with scenic views and beautiful gardens, where residents can enjoy walking paths and outdoor patios, and the place itself is pretty easy to get to and the visitation hours are flexible, which means family and friends can drop by without too much trouble. The building has three floors and is equipped with elevators, accessible apartments with safety rails, wheelchair access, private bedrooms, and private outdoor spaces, and there are no kitchens inside the units, but every apartment has things like cable TV, closet space, living rooms, individual climate controls, and private bathrooms. This community has a big game room, billiards lounge, activity room, computer room, a library, a business center with Wi-Fi, theatre rooms, a salon, and locked mailboxes, plus there's private and covered parking for residents and guests. People living here can use laundry rooms and take part in all sorts of recreational and social activities, and there are group classes like Tai Chi, yoga, dance fitness, chair fitness, and brain fitness, as well as cultural, arts and crafts, music, seasonal, holiday, and themed events, much of which is offered through special programs like ARIA Arts Program, IN•TUNE Fitness, Choir Choir, and the Engage Life® program, and the activity staff keeps things lively with organized outings, social gatherings, and volunteer opportunities, including intergenerational events that bring younger and older people together. Residents don't need to worry too much about chores since light linen and housekeeping services, groundskeeping, pest control, bed making, and trash removal are all part of living here, while a full-service salon, concierge services, and a community bistro add to the comfort. Meals are served three times a day using fresh ingredients, and there's communal dining, guest meals, snacks and beverages, and even private dining rooms with space for family or overnight guests if someone is visiting for an extended stay.

Solista Orem offers a pet-friendly setting where folks can take their dogs along the paths, but residents handle their own pets and visiting pets are welcome, and there are outdoor amenities like gardens, courtyards, patios, and a kitchen with kitchenette options for special occasions. There's a strong sense of safety, too, since the place uses emergency response and personal medical alert systems, and has Community Managers living on site around the clock. The community provides scheduled transportation for medical needs or shopping, plus there's transportation scheduling help and hobby coordination, and residents can also call on outside home health care services if their needs change. Solista Orem gives people a choice of living spaces, with floor plans including studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom suites ranging from 356 to 754 square feet, all set inside updated, craftsman-style interiors with hardwood floors and cozy lounges. The property is part of Holiday Retirement and offers levels of care ranging from independent living and assisted living to memory care, skilled nursing, continuing care, home care, respite care, care homes, and adult day care, plus there's a dedicated licensed skilled nursing facility and special support for those living with Alzheimer's or other memory issues. The community runs technology and educational programs, literary groups, entertainment, horticulture sessions, and business center activities, and there's always Wi-Fi in the shared spaces. Residents are free to pay by check, with all-inclusive rent and private pay options, and management requires a credit check when moving in. The support services are designed so people can stay independent without giving up their freedom, and engaged staff members help with activities of daily living when needed, without being intrusive. Solista Orem also has resources such as newsletters, referral programs, activity hubs, cost calculators, tours, and a gallery available online for those who want more details, all within a Spanish-style retirement setting focused on comfort, connection, and a full calendar of engaging things to do.
