    Home-like community with caring staff

I chose this midsized, home-like community and I'm glad I did - the owner and staff are genuinely caring and responsive, rooms and facility are very clean, meals and activities are enjoyable, and residents are friendly. It offers great value, peace of mind, and I would recommend it to others.

    Summary of reviews

Hearthstone Manor is consistently described as a small, owner-operated assisted-living community with a strong emphasis on a home-like atmosphere and personal attention. Families and residents frequently cite compassionate, attentive staff and visible owner involvement as central strengths. The community's scale (approximately thirty residents) supports individualized care relationships, a family-like culture, and a sense of inclusion. Routine maintenance, recent remodeling, and a generally clean, well-kept interior are recurring positives that contribute to an impression of good value and affordability.

Care and staff performance are the facility's most commonly lauded features. Reviewers describe patient, kind caregivers, stable staffing relationships, and on-site owners who are responsive and engaged. Therapy and rehabilitation services are highlighted as beneficial for recovery, and many families report relief and confidence in day-to-day care. That said, a small number of reviews raise serious concerns about medication-handling and staff qualifications; one review includes an allegation of medication mishandling and mentions uncertified aides. These comments indicate a need for prospective families to verify staff credentials, training protocols, and medication-management procedures during a tour.

Dining and activities are generally well regarded but show some variability. Many reviewers praise the meals, communal dining setup, and assigned seating; others describe repetitive menus or limited variety. The activities program—music, exercise, outings, family nights, and occasional musical or social events—is a repeated strength, and residents appear to have regular opportunities to participate in both in-house and off-site activities.

Facility features reflect the small-community model: private-bathroom studio apartments, a dining room, salon, fitness area, and modest common spaces such as a television area, small library, and covered outdoor patio. Limitations include smaller room sizes, limited large gathering spaces (no substantial library or large common room), and active construction for an expansion that has created temporary disruption. Availability constraints (studios fully occupied at times) and certain extra fees (medication handling, laundry) or unclear bundled-pricing descriptions have been noted and are worth confirming. Additionally, the absence of a dedicated on-site memory-care unit may affect families seeking specialized dementia services.

Overall, Hearthstone Manor tends to suit families seeking a smaller, personal, and community-oriented assisted-living setting with hands-on management and a strong caregiving culture. Prospective residents and families should prioritize an in-person visit to assess room size, confirm memory-care options and unit availability, review staffing credentials and medication protocols, and request a clear written description of all fees and pricing to ensure the facility aligns with their care needs and expectations.

    About Hearthstone Manor

Hearthstone Manor sits in Spanish Fork, Utah, run fully by the owners who have a strong medical background, and their administrator's actually a licensed Physical Therapist, and it's on the smaller side with only 32 licensed beds so there's a bit more of a personal touch, and folks age 55 and up are welcome to live in private or semi-private rooms that come with kitchenettes, private bathrooms fitted with grab bars and shower seats, and each apartment has its own climate control, WiFi, cable, and telephone, plus there's natural lighting you can enjoy and even some with electric fireplaces, and you'll notice the mountain views right outside the windows, which gives the grounds a nice peaceful air along with the flower gardens and walking paths that are inviting for a stroll or just sitting in the garden with a neighbor or family member. Staff are available around the clock to help with things like bathing, dressing, transferring, medication management, and even have training for memory care, so memory loss isn't something Hearthstone ignores-there's a secure, separate memory care wing, and care gets adjusted to fit each resident's needs with activities and routines made for folks with dementia, Alzheimer's, or similar conditions, making it feel safe without being boxed in. For daily life, folks can enjoy chef-cooked meals in a restaurant-style dining room where guests are allowed to dine, plus they can get meals that fit dietary needs like diabetes or allergies, and if you enjoy cooking, there's a cooking club, too, along with a gardening group, Nintendo Wii bowling, arts and crafts, music, story time, and a regular book discussion club, not to mention movie nights, games, and plenty of community-run activities that bring people together in the common areas, which are warm and home-like with fireplaces or even a pub and game rooms, while the movie room and arts area mean there's a spot for everyone's interests. Services fill in some of the day-to-day gaps like housekeeping, laundry, dry cleaning, and move-in help, and they offer in-house religious services and VA benefits assistance, and if you need financial advice they can help with that, too, plus folks have access to fitness and wellness programs, a salon for haircuts and grooming, physical health support, hospice care if needed, and care for higher needs including diabetic or incontinence care, all in a building that is wheelchair and walker friendly and easy to navigate. Residents have a 24-hour call button, get quick help if there's an emergency, and enjoy the option of social outings and guest parking for visitors, while all-inclusive pricing makes things simpler. Hearthstone Manor stays committed to helping folks keep as much independence as possible, focuses on dignity with support whenever and wherever it's needed, and helps folks feel at home in a comfortable, familiar setting with mountain views and a warm community spirit.
