The Virginia Home sits in Virginia as a long-term care community for adults with permanent physical disabilities, offering 130 beds, all in private rooms, and run as a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization licensed by the Commonwealth, and it's known for loving, lifelong residential care for people who need nursing home support under Medicaid laws. The Chief Executive Officer is Mr. Douglas H. Vaughan, Jr., while William E. Coleman administers operations, and the care team works with a strong member-to-resident ratio of 1.8 to 1, which means residents usually see familiar faces helping them every day. Residents receive person-centered care focused on dignity, dedication, and compassion, with nurses and care staff available 24 hours to handle daily needs or emergencies, and daily services like housekeeping and laundry keep things clean and comfortable for everyone. The facility meets the needs of those needing nursing facility or skilled nursing facility care, offering physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and you'll find wheelchair repair and maintenance on site, so mobility issues can get addressed quickly when they come up. The Virginia Home tracks efficiency indicators to compare its own performance and see where things might get better, and residents benefit from restorative services, individualized case management, and dietary and nutritional counseling tailored to their unique needs, which is especially important for folks with ongoing health concerns. The nursing services cover various health needs, and medical staff assist with advanced therapies and help with activities of daily living, plus private daily room rates are $369, and during the last fiscal year, there were 46,605 patient days recorded, showing the steady care that goes on year-round. People living here have access to cultural, recreational, social, therapeutic, and educational programs, both inside the community and out in the local area, and staff can also help with employment opportunities or offer counseling for residents and their families when they need support. You can use Facebook to log in or sign up for their services, but there's a login system that asks anyone accessing certain services to sign in so they keep residents' information safe. The Virginia Home remains a place where folks with irreversible physical disabilities can expect steady, professional care in a setting that values privacy, safety, and a sense of community.

Attentive staff, homelike care recommended
My loved one lives here and I'm grateful - the staff are attentive, kind, professional and genuinely care; the building is clean, calm and homelike with lovely gardens, lake views, plenty of activities and on-site services. He's flourished with excellent care even for complex needs and I feel peace of mind. Not perfect - there've been occasional communication or maintenance hiccups - but overall I highly recommend this warm, supportive community.
